Claudia started the topic Too much width around hip? in the forum liesl + co: city stroll wrap skirt 9 years ago
I almost finished my first city stroll wrap skirt. The sewing was great fun so far. Before attaching the waistband I wrapped the skirt around me. And it stows above the pockets. It looks like there is too much material in between hip and waist. Can you see on the pics?
Has anyone an idea how to solve this? Lisl, maybe you? Shall i just tighten…[Read more] -

Where do you purchase fine corduroy that could be used for dresses/jumpers? I’m not having any luck especially in a print.

Claudia, have you seen this post? https://oliverands.com/community/blog/2016/09/lengthened-city-stroll-wrap-skirt.html
I think it says Liesl lenghtened her skirt 15 or 16 inches…
Hope this helps. -

Is there a maximum you would not exceed when lengthening the skirt? For size 4? Thank you so much! Claudia

Lisa P. Taylor started the topic Reversible garment using quilting cotton and fleece in the forum about the forums 9 years ago
I am making the lullaby layette jacket, which is reversible, with quilting cotton on one side and fleece on the other. I expect the cotton to generally be worn on the outside. I am seeking some general guidance on what stitch to use when joining seams, stretch or straight? Would a quilting needle or ball point for my machine work best? I would…[Read more]

I suspect t it will be much more difficult to add a zip to an already finished bodice than to modify the pattern and add one from scratch.
I’ve also made buttonholes for years on a machine without a bottonhole foot, just the regular foot and the 4 step buttonhole program. I’ve also made buttonholes with a dense zigzag stitch, regular foot and no…[Read more]

Apologies for the silence, @dids! I’m traveling, with limited access to my computer. If I recall correctly, you attach the elastic to both front edges of only the fabric A jacket. So right side and left side. Does that make sense? I hope it helps.
