I have one that I’ll post as soon as I find time. I usually sew a 6 or 8 and went up to a 12 for oversized, and it went really well! Promise to post soon.

Sew Alongs 6 years agoHello! I did the Afternoon Tea Blouse sew-along and it was such a great experience! Between the sew-along tips and the wonderful pattern instructions, I had fun making my most challenging pattern to date and my “wearable muslin” turned out great!
Except – it’s snug, no, *tight* right across the stripes. I believe I made the correct size…[Read more]

I’m no help on slouchy vs sloppy, but on the sewing with double gauze: it’s trickier than lawn or quilting cotton, at least in my opinion. It doesn’t stretch exactly, but it has way more give than most wovens, so you have to be careful when cutting and sewing in a similar way that you do when working with knits. It also doesn’t press all that…[Read more]

When sewing the breezy blouse, the bias band was too small to fit and I had to intentionally stretch it quite a lot to make it fit. I assumed I must have cut something wrong, but I’ve gone back and double checked and a size 12 bias band when sewn together is 19in in circumference, while the size 12 armscye is over 20″.?

Thanks. -

I have some white, kind of windowpane checked double gauze. I’d like to make a slouchy Classic shirt with it for summer. What’s the best way to make it bigger without looking too sloppy? I’m kind of chesty for my size and sometimes slouchy ends up looking like maternity wear if it hangs too far away from my body. I LOVE the Classic shirt…[Read more]

Hi,
I actually finished my lullaby layette pants and shirt but I couldn’t manage to post it here so I put it on the Facebook page. I want to thank again everyone who shared their experience with me. I ended up pretty pleased with my result and am now embarking on the jacket. I got a patterned double gauze for the outside and solid voile for the o…[Read more] -
