Wonderful fit for a woven tshirtI love the shaping of this garmet. I’ve now made two with plans to make more. The first was with muslin to check the fit and the second with some leftover rayon and silk for the facings. The drape of the garment with its shaping, in both fabrics, worked well. I am 5’9” size medium b bust and the only adjustment I made was to shorten the length by 5/8” so that my slight tummy roundness didn’t pull across the front. It worked. When worn, this top looks great tucked in or not. Originally I chose this pattern for my rayon fabric leftovers to wear under a vneck because it had short sleeves and it had a nice neckline to pair with the neck. It added a nice pop of color and interest. The short sleeves allow me to wash this garment over and over rather than washing my sweater after wearing. The muslin that I made will get dyed so that effort doesn’t go to waste. Can I say that this pattern excites and inspires me to make more for next summer? I may even try the long sleeve versions. Oh the directions were spot on and clearly written. Thank youWas this helpful?A TNT for meI have been looking for a woven tee shirt pattern and tried the Verdun recently. I love it! I have made two already, one from a lightweight cotton shirting and the other from a chambray. The only change I made to the pattern was to hem with self made bias instead of using the hem facing. I love the fit and the slightly loose, breezy style. Perfect for warm weather. I am planning a couple more with fabric in my stash.3 of 3 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?LovelyI made this in lightweight ivory linen. Graded L bust to M waist/hip to accommodate my broad shoulders. I'm 5'10" so I lengthened by 1/2" (seems like a small amount but it made a huge difference!). It came together very quickly. The t-shirt is simple yet refined. Will probably make the long sleeve version at some point. Great pattern!1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Favorite topI made two Verdun t-shirts recently, both in lightweight linen fabrics. This pattern is a keeper--fit is great and both styles are flattering. The only alteration I made was to cut a size medium and to taper to a large at the hip line. The fit is slightly loose which is perfect for the hot summer months. I already have three pieces of fabric to make more Verdun. Love this pattern!!3 of 3 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Verdun woven T-shirtI prefer a 5/8' seam because I make French seams or flat fell seams in all unlined garments. It takes a little longer to add 1/8" all around. Quite honestly, although I like the style, in the future I will only purchase patterns with 5/8: seams. I made 2 versions: silk broadcloth with interfaced facing and sueded rayon with bias neck facing. I prefer the bias facing as it is quicker and just as serviceable. I dye my own fabrics so I am always looking for patterns with simple lines that show off patterned fabric well. The Verdun tee is excellent for fiber artists in this respect. I am 5'3" and weigh 100 lbs. The size small B cup fit very well.1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Great pattern!I’ve made 5 of these so far (two muslins to check fit and three more in various fabrics. The pattern is great, cup sizes, clear directions, excellent option for any new sewers. I plan to make the long sleeve version in the fall.2 of 2 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Loving the VerdunI have already made two Verdun woven tees. This pattern is perfection!!!!! There will be many more created as this is such a good basic. Was this helpful?Love the pattern conceptI am new to sewing and I have found traditional pattern instructions to be confusing. This pattern had very detailed instructions making it clear how to do each step. I love the digital version where I can separate the layers to just get the size I need. But I do have one problem with this pattern, and again I am a novice so it might be me, but I find the collar facing doesn’t really line up with the XL pattern size. Seems the circumference of the interfacing/collar is smaller than the neck opening created by the shirt front and back. I am wondering if this is a problem with the digital pattern as there was only one size for the neck facing. I’ve made two shirts so far and made a slight adjustment to the second one and it fits a little better. Overall I love the detailed instructions and it is encouraging me to try more patterns. Was this helpful?Verdun woven teeI made the long sleeved version and found the sleeves a little long for me, but other than that the sizing was perfect. I love the curved hem and found it a quick and easy sew. Definitely going to make the short sleeve version.1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Verdun Woven Tee shirtThis pattern is a great style for a simple, stylish woven top. I shortened mine slightly as I am not tall. The cup sizes in the pattern fit well. My "practice" shirt has become a regular in my wardrobe! Was this helpful?verdun TFirst pattern from this company. I made a trial short-sleeved version first and loved the feel and fit. Then made it up in fabric from my stash that was a cotton plaid. I wasn't sure I would like the curved hem in the plaid but it worked out great. Liked the pattern so much I bought a Japanese print cotton and made it up again. Great instructions and technique.2 of 2 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Verdun Woven Tee ShirtJust finished the short-sleeve T-shirt in a cotton print. Shortened it by 1- 1/2 inches since I'm 5' 1". Turned out beautifully. I've been looking for a simple T-shirt substitute pattern in a woven fabric, and this is it.3 of 3 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Pleasing pattern to sew and to wearI made the short-sleeved version in linen, lengthened it my customary 5cm in the body, very happy with it. Will make again in other fabrics. Clear instructions also helpful.2 of 2 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Good Basic PatternPattern came together easily and quickly. No problems or issues with this pattern and it came out looking like photo. This pattern can be used successfully with lots of different fabric. Was this helpful?Joy to sew!Great pattern and quick sew! I made large size with D cup in view A, but with view B neckline. Made a wearable muslin and love it. I changed the legs of the dart to point towards my apex. I like the facings and how it is longer in the back. Next time I will lengthen it a little since I am 5’9” and try the long-sleeve version in a cotton/linen blend. I also used contrasting topstitching thread in the bobbin when I sewed the neckline facing to the shirt.3 of 3 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful? In Love!!I am just in LOVE with this pattern! I started with a muslin, then on to a printed lawn and now a chambray. I did go up a size, for fear that it wouldn't be roomy enough, but I am going to go back down for my next try. I agree that while I typically don't like drop shoulder, this one is very flattering and comfortable. I strongly recommend this for beginner to advanced, as the possibilities here seem endless.2 of 2 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Lovely to sew and lovely to wearI purchased this pattern the day before NZ went into a snap Covid-19 lock down for three weeks. It was a pleasure to sew this top while staying at home. I have made three versions of it so far. Super easy to make and the instructions are easy to follow (as always). This pattern will be a firm favorite to make and wear for years to come.3 of 3 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful? My Dream Come True Sewing PatternWhile on a trip to the UK I purchased a top similar to the one in this pattern. I wished I had bought it in every color available. When I saw this pattern I knew I had to buy it. I have made 2 so far, one of each neck style. I am now waiting for my linen delivery to make a few more. It was a pleasure to sew this pattern, totally stress free and great instructions. I also love the neck and hemline options. In my opinion there is NOTHING not to love about this pattern. Thank you for a pattern with wonderful design options including cup sizes and the great instructions8 of 8 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Nice patternEasy style, easy to make and very nice result. Love the different cup sizes, as with all other patterns I had to move the bust darts, other than that no alterations. True to size and simple and nice to wear.2 of 3 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Verdun TopI love the wide range of cup sizes. Pattern is well-drafted and sews up beautifully. I like the sewn-down facings - no more facing slip-ups! A nice pallet for beautiful fabric.5 of 5 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?VerdunI love this pattern. I made the long sleeved version in cotton. Drop shoulder patterns don’t usually suit me but this one does. I really like the hem facings and the curve from front to the back hem is beautiful. My next one will be lightweight linen, short sleeves.2 of 2 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful? My First Pattern from You!Loved the easy style, great fit for me. Made short sleeve using two different fabrics....facings were a print and body a pin dot. Easy to follow, happy I ordered. Will make again for sure.1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Another Fun Pattern!I knew when I first saw the photos for this pattern that I would like it. Its casual attitude fits my lifestyle, for one thing. And I had a couple fabrics in my stash that I thought would work well with it. (They did!) As a plus, it is pretty easy to sew, with so few pieces. I highly recommend this pattern.1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Verdun TopI absolutely love this pattern. The first one I made was just a little too small (wishful thinking) but fit my good friend beautifully. Then I made one a size bigger with the same cup size and it fit me beautifully! I only had to raise it up a little at the shoulder seam. It was so easy to make and the neck and hem facings add a lot to the classic look. I have some plaid linen to make my next one. Then at the end of summer I'll try the long sleeved version.4 of 4 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Errata
- In the first printing of this pattern, there was a minor error in the pattern's description on the envelope. The description states that the hem is longer in the front than in the back. The hem is actually longer in the back than in the front. The pattern description on the website is correct.
Determining Which Printing You Have
As errata are discovered, they are marked for correction in subsequent printings of the pattern. To determine which printing of an instruction sheet or pattern sheet you have, look at the copyright box which appears on each. Toward the bottom of the box, there is a series of numbers.
The lowest number you see there indicates which printing you have. For example, if the lowest number in the box on the instruction sheet is "2," you have an instruction sheet from the second printing. Any errors in the instructions mentioned for the first printing have been corrected in your version. If the lowest number in the box on the pattern sheet is "1," you have a copy of the pattern sheet from the first printing.
Pattern sheets and instructions sheets can be printed separately, so be sure to check the errata notices for pattern pieces against the printing number on the pattern sheet and errata notices for instructions against the printing number on the instruction sheet.
