Suggested Fabrics
This pattern works best with knit fabrics like lightweight cotton, rayon, or silk jersey. If you choose to use a heavier knit, you may want to cut the front on bias to give the cowl more drape, which could require extra fabric.
Notions
Coordinating thread, double needle (optional), featherweight fusible interfacing (View A only).

Really classy topI love cowl necks so took the plunge to try and sew with knits (which intimidate me--I usually use linen or cotton). I had an inexpensive knit in a beautiful teal to try the pattern on. I elected to make a short-sleeved version. All in all, it was very simple to make and turned out beautifully, even though I didn't quite get the rear facing/neckline done right (I just topstitched over my mistake and that helped) and I didn't follow notches closely enough when setting the sleeves, so they pucker a little. That is all on my user error, though. The shirt looks great. I'll try the long-sleeve version with a sturdier knit. Was this helpful?Nice pattern! This is a good easy pattern. Made one and will definitely make another as I like this style. Was this helpful?Super TopWhat a super top! It was very easy and quick to make and Liesl’s instructions as always were simple to follow. It’s so easy to wear - I’ve dressed it up for smart-casual and worn it with jeans for dress-down days, Thanks Liesl :-)Was this helpful?Super patternI love cowl necks and needed a dress for an occasion, so I lengthened the top and elasticated the waist then added a tie belt - it looks fantastic! Will make the top soon, might make the cowl a bit fuller..... looking forward to making up other Liesl+co patternsWas this helpful?Love this pattern!I love this cowl neck top so much I am going to make a second one. I’ve bought several digital patterns and this one is by far the clearest. Directions are also well written and support the confident beginner’s experience level. I will definitely buy another pattern from Liesl&co!Was this helpful?Great pattern!Such a great pattern, can be dressed up or down depending on fabric choice. Uses a minimal amount of fabric and the instructions are great as usual. Was this helpful? In this video, Liesl introduces you to the Easton Cowl-Neck Tee pattern.
