Nice top, clear instructions as everI always turn to Liesl designs for nice patterns with interesting details and high quality instructions, and the Santa Rosa top is no exception. Drapey fabrics are not my favourite to sew and I suspect some of the pieces were victims of slippage but the resulting top does feel lovely to wear and will be a great one to wear in the summer. For this first try at it I used a cheap beach wrap and didn’t have enough fabric for sleeves, but next time I will make myself a classy piece of workwear and will take my time over the sleeves so that they look just as nice as I managed to get the collar to look this time. (First time I’ve really nailed the collar I think.)Was this helpful?Nice designI’m a 70yo sewer who lives in Hawaii. I have an autoimmune condition which requires me to maintain more coverage around my neck and shoulders. So I search for patterns that include this. No more sun tops for me. This design really fit the bill, and I made it with a silky crepe print from Mood fabrics. It was easy to sew, I left off the pockets detail, but I appreciated the stand up collar and over shoulder coverage. I will make this again and again! Was this helpful?Great pattern! This is such an easy and clever pattern. The collar attachment is unusual but so neat. It's not hard, just follow the directions. I made the top a couple of inches longer. Will definitely make it again. Was this helpful?Love this top!Easy to follow instructions for a beginner. The only part I struggled with was understanding how to put the collar together. In the end, it came out great. I made one adjustment to lower the bust darts and wish I had lowered the pockets along with that adjustment. Will do that next time I make this pattern, which I will definitely be doing! Was this helpful? From the Discussion Forums
