      Fitzroy blouse

I wanted to make myself a dress to wear to a wedding. I had an upholstery fabric that I was given that would be perfect for a skirt, but I wanted a flattering shirt to go with it. I browsed quite a bit, then found this option, and boom, I was sold. I made the first version with a satin fabric, but the color wasn't quite right, so I made another one :-) again with a poly satin. I used the A bust option (grateful for it), which was still a bit wide around the torso, so I cut the second one with a slightly deeper curve around the waist. I also brought the pleats one inch higher, to create more length in the cuff. I think the cuff looks even more elegant, it really stands out. I made one more change: creating a hidden button placket which makes it easier to avoid jewelry being tangled in the buttons. I wish you created a third version with the hidden buttons. My pattern drawing skills are quite bad! I am very satisfied with the result and will definitely sew the duffed sleeve option soon. I also can't wait to buy the classic shirt next. The instructions are great and

      OOh! Neckline & Pleats

Love the feminine touch with the pleated cuff. Added two extra pleats on my knit version to keep the 'cuff' area close. Like the slow curve of the neckline. And the high meeting point. Instructions clear and easy to follow. Becoming a fan of Liesl + Co patterns.

      Love This Neckline!

I stitched up the long sleeved version with the ruffled cuff option. I stitched a straight size 12 with A/B cup, shortened the body length by 3" and removed half the fullness of the back pleat. It fit perfectly! I am thrilled to not have to fuss with bust adjustments. I am stitching up a short sleeved version now with the same modifications. I will keep the back pleat fullness when I stitch a full length for ease through the hips. The neckline is very flattering, too!

Can't wait to sew it up!
Reviewed by Julie ( Verified Buyer) on 12/30/2021
I bought the pattern and some Liberty Christmas print lawn, and was going to make it up for the holidays.... and my sewing machine died! It will be back in a month, at which time I will make up the shirt. However, I have traced all the pieces onto tracing paper (not because anyone has to, but because I wanted to make sure I preserve the pattern in all it's sizes) and the pattern pieces are clear and easy to read. Same for the directions. I think this will sew up well, and I will update my review then.

      Love the Style!

I have been seeking just the right blouse pattern for me for ages. I don't like the classic shirt on me - the collar, button plackets etc so the uniqueness of this blouse was what attracted me and of course Liesl didn't disappoint! The sizing was perfect with bust cups and shaping through the body - I'm making more for sure and I've been fantasizing about even making it up into a light weight jacket.

      My fancy new blouse.

I made this blouse during Lockdown, and it entertained me for days! I bought some Liberty print fabric and the result was fab. I am really pleased with the result. I would advise you to check the finished sizes before choosing your print off, and print only that one. I was confused as to: was the sizing uk, European or American?
