    I’ve made these twice now. Both times they turned out adorable. The first time, my son wore them until they were threadbare, he loved them that much. I made size 7 and used a cotton double gauze and doubled it again bc it was slightly sheer and followed all the directions and they fit great on my almost 7 year old. Instructions were clear and straightforward.

    I love this pattern so much! I used it when it was a free download up to size 4, but my grandson out grew it. I purchased the digital version with more sizes because this pattern fits better than any other I have tried—it “hangs” beautifully and is comfortable to wear with the separate straight grain elasticiced waistband, instead of the ones that just have a folded casing. It’s also easier to alter if need be, and there are tutorials for adding pockets or mock fly, which I did for mine. I have always loved Oliver and S patterns and this simple little pair of shorts is no exception!

    Pattern is clearly written. I sewed one size down for my child who has a slim build and adjusted the waist elastic to get the right fit. I have made six pairs already for this summer!

    Certainly a simple pattern which is easy to follow. However, the first pair I made were much too firm for 9 month old of approx 10kg, so would suggest going up a size or being a little generous in cutting fabric - ie add a couple of cms. This I did for second pair and they were fine.

    I have used this pattern for 2 years as it is 100% perfectly spot on (all seams match up - you’d think this is a given for patterns but it’s not!). They sit so amazingly on my boys and for more than a year they only wore these shorts and still only wear these for pj’s.

    I have used this pattern for many years when it was a free pattern and decided to purchase it so that I could get the A0 file to use with my projector. The A0 file leaves a lot to be desired- the pattern lines are all one colour, the same style is used for multiple lines and there are no layers, all of which makes it impossible to use easily with the projector on fabric. Please improve the A0 file, adding layers would be a huge improvement. Otherwise the shorts and instructions are fine.
