cathyreally great pattern, i had to do a full just adjustment which worked out fine, as per pattern instructions. Worn lots already. Next time i would lengthen the bodice at the waistline a little. Pattern instructions really good. 5 *****Was this helpful?Just what I had in mindI've sewn all my life with patterns from all the readily available pattern companies. I was so thrilled to find you and this pattern. It's a great piece, well thought out and designed with easy to follow instructions. I love it! It was just what I had in mind for a new top and I was happy to find you as a new source for patterns.3 of 3 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Make a MuslinI'm 5' 4" with a 46" bust line. I found the fba instructions great but I forgot to lengthen the back pieces to match the front. The tunic was almost dress length on me so I shortened it by about 5". I really liked the top as the sleeves were great, the collar was great, all the finishings were great. I just wasn't thrilled with the bottom as on me it made me look pregnant. I think for me, I would have to modify the bottom with fewer gathers to make it more slimming looking, there's plenty of material to play with how it fits. I'm quite more curvy that the model and this tunic didn't drape on me in the same way. I will just have to play with it more to get it to look like I'm not pregnant, although if I was this would be extremely stylish.5 of 5 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Make a muslin! After my success with the "Bistro Dress" I chose to make a wearable muslin with modest success. The directions are great and the finishes look beautiful. I did the full bust adjustment from the recommended size. The depth from the shoulder to the fullest part of the bust was far too short for me. While it is wearable and I've had many compliments, I can feel that the fit isn't quite right. Next try I'll fix the shoulder depth and add several inches to the bottom of the bodice pieces. I'm just wishing I had done a muslin first and I certainly know better.4 of 4 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?A cute topThis top is a delight to wear. It is totally different than anything else I have made.
Here is my review: https://sewbeading.wordpress.com/2016/03/10/liesl-co-late-lunch-tunic/1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?DreamyI made this tunic in a drapey linen-rayon blend, and it's beautiful. The back could hang a little better---that is, an even drapier fabric would be a good choice. I wouldn't try to make this in a crisp fabric, even something very lightweight.
The pattern went together like a dream. I'm a size 4 or 6 in a commercial shirt, but I cut a size 2 based on the given measurements. I could've even made a size 0---I'm very small busted, and there's plenty of room in the tunic.2 of 2 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Late Lunch TunicMade the late lunch tunic and have enjoyed wearing it and have received compliments on the garment.1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Bubbling over instead of Bursting Out.....Buy this pattern for the FBA (full bust adjustment) alone. I blogged it here http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2014/09/fba-all-way.html I have have just sewn this gorgeous shirt with a DD FBA and it is stunning. The Empire line fits neatly just under my bust and is so slimming (which is pretty amazing considering I am 12 weeks post baby #6. The gathered skirt skims over my lumpy bits and the high/low hemline is super groovy. Best of all, I can feed in it! I had made one previously in a wool/modal which 'grew' and I tend to wear that as a casual top. My latest is straight to the top of my girlie lunch outfit list. Love it, L O V E it. It is up there with my Portfolio on the must have pattern set.8 of 8 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Late Lunch TunicThis is a must buy for women with a larger bust. It's almost impossible to find a tunic at a store with these design elements that will fit properly. The full bust adjustment instructions are fantastic. I've never done an FBA, but it made perfect sense. Add some length to the pieces as well. It takes a bit of tweaking, but you can do it!3 of 3 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Errata
- Note that in the first version of this pattern, there was a minor error in the instructions. The last sentence of Step 1 on page 8 should read, "Stitch two rows of gathering (basting) stitches along the top of the skirt 3/8" and 5/8" from the raw edge, starting and stopping at the notches and leaving thread tails several inches long for pulling." This has been corrected in the version of the pattern now available for download.
Determining Which Printing You Have
As errata are discovered, they are marked for correction in subsequent printings of the pattern. To determine which printing of an instruction sheet or pattern sheet you have, look at the copyright box which appears on each. Toward the bottom of the box, there is a series of numbers.
The lowest number you see there indicates which printing you have. For example, if the lowest number in the box on the instruction sheet is "2," you have an instruction sheet from the second printing. Any errors in the instructions mentioned for the first printing have been corrected in your version. If the lowest number in the box on the pattern sheet is "1," you have a copy of the pattern sheet from the first printing.
Pattern sheets and instructions sheets can be printed separately, so be sure to check the errata notices for pattern pieces against the printing number on the pattern sheet and errata notices for instructions against the printing number on the instruction sheet.
