Description

Want to look stylish without trying too hard? The Glenelly is your ticket. The Glenelly features a modern square neckline, raglan short sleeves, and a figure-flattering fit. Designed for knit fabric, both the top and dress options could be dressed up or down. The dress option has gathers in the center front and center back waist, and a slightly-raised front waistline. The Glenelly also comes in a full-bust option.

Suggested Fabrics

Primary Fabric: Medium-weight knit fabric with good recovery, and with 50% horizontal and vertical stretch, such as cotton spandex jersey, poly spandex jersey and interlock.

Notions

• All options: Four pieces of 3/4” x 3/4”(1.9 x 1.9 cm) lightweight woven fusible interfacing.
• Dress option: 3/8″ (1 cm) clear elastic as long as your waist.
• Dress option: 3/8” (1 cm) straight fusible stay tape (or cut your own using lightweight woven fusible interfacing on the straight grain).

Choosing your Size

• Determine if you should use the regular bust front pieces or the full-bust front pieces—subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 3″ (7.5 cm) or less, use regular bust; if it is more than 3″ (7.5 cm), use full bust.
• Compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Using the corresponding row for your bust (regular bust or full bust), choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
• Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
• Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
• It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. The instructions for blending sizes are included in the pattern.
• If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the garment. The instructions for lengthening or shortening are included in the pattern.
• It is highly recommended that you check your fit by making a test garment with inexpensive fabric that has similar weight as your final garment fabric.
