      Fabulous!

I used a coated cotton for the outer and some leftover patterned linen for the lining. Silver snaps completed the look! The outcome was a beautiful rain cape for our 18-month old grand-daughter. I made it is size 2T because she is quite tall. Sadly, I've yet to see her in it but hope to very shortly - perhaps this weekend, if it is raining. A very simple and straight-forward pattern with very stylish results. I think it's time to make the adult version for me!

I was surprised to find that the pink wool I ordered to make the Forest Cape was double-sided. With a lovely dark-blue plaid on its flip side and no scratch factor whatsoever, I decided to skip lining it. I entertained the possiblity of doing a reversible cape--and I'd encourage others to try it--but at the end of the day the wool layers proved to be unsplitable (or maybe I couldn't finesse it). With Liesl's kind encouragement, I left out the facing. I used a nice linen binding (much nicer than it sounds) to cover the inside seams, knitted wool binding to cover the raw edges around the cape (the wool binding's a hard find but well worth the effort), and old-fashioned wooden buttons. Most everyone on my sewing site who's made the Forest Cape wants to graduate to the adult-version Woodland Stroll cape; I'm definitely in that camp.

loved sewing this pattern. I upcycled a large scarf and lined it with bambi flannel. It turned out quite nice. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I did use snaps instead of buttons. I love pdf's - keeping the pattern and having the variety of size options is really nice!

I just sewed this cape for my 3 year old. It took me about 5 hours, with many interruptions from my family. The directions are clear, and it's so easy to have just 3 pattern pieces. I made her a size 4T, as the 3T pattern would have given her less than 2 inches of ease at the hips, and she has a long torso. The 4T fits very nicely. I used wool for the outside, and cotton for the lining.

I used this pattern to make an Evie costume (from Descendants), and it was perfect! I love how Oliver + S patterns give such professional results every time. I also am glad that there is a skill taught for each pattern. I have learned a great deal about tailoring and clothes construction because of Oliver + S patterns. This pattern is so lovely and so cozy that I am making the child's version for my two girls' Christmas coats and the adult version as a gift for my sisters and for my elder daughter's and my Christmas coats.

As usually this pattern by O+S was a "sewing lesson"! Even if it was a quite easy and fast project I have learn a couple of new sewing technics. The fitting is perfect but the sizing is a little bit small. Though my daughters are not big, I made size 6 for my 5 year old and size 8 for my 7 year old.

The pattern was easy to follow and the end result is lovely. This was my first attempt at a lined garment and the directions made it easy. The curved neck piece was a bit confusing but not impossible. I made the cape in a plaid for my 1 year old niece and she loves it!

This pattern was a joy to make. The instructions were very clear and concise. My only problem was I placed the side buttons on the inside next to the lining instead of the outside. Of course I had to remove them and place them correctly.
