@georgeandizzy that’s awesome! I made one out of a piece of printer paper but the curved edge on the one in your link looks easier to use. Picking one up on my next trip to Joann’s!
When I made this skirt, I had to put in a couple tiny tucks on the folded-under edge to get it to lay flat. The tucks aren’t visible from the outside of the dress :-).

I’ve sewn with both Kaffe Fassett and Art Gallery cottons and they are both lovely!

Also have a pattern-search question: what are you ladies’ favorite men’s button down shirt pattern? I have some gorgeous redwood herringbone RK Shetland flannel I want to sew up for Ben. It’s not something I’ll get around to before this fall, but am wanting some pattern recommendations. Thanks!

@lightningmcstitch I love the blue/lime and pink/rose stars! 🙂 I’ll have to brush up on my high school French and browse the site some more.

Thank you all for those links! I’ll check them out today. As far as price point, Liberty fleece is pricier than I’d probably be willing to pay for toddler clothing, but I’m willing to pay for good quality fabric that will stand up to repeated washing ;).

‘Call the Midwife’ is also outstanding. Tho that’s about as close as I get to watching a “chick” show – I’m more of a Vikings/Game of Thrones kinda girl ;).

We’re really enjoying the Netflix series ‘Daredevil’. ‘Longmire’ is a huge favorite of mine (I’m SO happy Netflix picked it up after its cable network was stupid enough to drop it!,) and season 3 hits Netflix May 1st (the new season 4 will release this fall). And it’s not on Netflix, but ‘Wolf Hall’ (Masterpiece Theatre) on PBS is excellent!

I love the idea of sewing sweatpants that would actually fit my lanky girls for fall. I’d love to get some tips on where to find good quality cotton sweatshirt fleece, especially with cute prints like the stars and the floral design. Last fall I bought some (inexpensive) fleece from “that huge online store” and am pretty disappointed in its…[Read more]

I have a Black & Decker Digital Advantage that I absolutely adore. Got it at BB&B for ~$35. It has a nice heft & is so easy to fill up with water!

“Science is for girls.” Love it!! Haha
I love the coloring book idea. Stashing that in my mental museum for a year or two from now when Ellie is old enough to want to “play” with fabric ;).

@RTWG, one of the issues of Seamwork magazine had a leggings pattern with a petal cuff (similar to the sleeve on the fairy tale dress). I loved the look – perhaps it would allow for some variety but stick with the easy-to-sew factor of a cuff?
