I just spit out my drink laughing.

I hate my Rowenta, despite using it with a spray bottle and thus not having any leaking/spitting issues, because it sometimes gets so scorchingly hot that even linen immediately burns. My next iron will be a cheapie.

My own stuff is never ironed because I don’t care, my child’s always is because I do care, and my husband is so handsome I’ve…[Read more]

That sounds challenging but in a good way Brenda.
I was reading and article recently that working on challenging projects may help prevent dementia. I cannot think of a nicer prevention.

I made some taslon Class Picnic shorts for Matilda’s end of year concert, last night (they are doing a Beach Boy medley) I had so much trouble with them and then…[Read more]

  • The back placket will extend the life of the garment. Lidia wore her for years past its ‘correct’ size as she could shimmy into it with the placket open.

Don’t take my ironing from me, it is how I sort my world!

A basket of crispy cotton and linen, dried in the sunshine, pressed smooth and hung on beautiful coat hangers and put away.

I would never get to watch telly if I didn’t iron 😉

  • I just tested one on my kid – it slipped easily over her head without unbuttoning the back. It was a teeny bit of a wriggle pulling it down through the chest, however. I don’t know if that helps or not! Honestly, if I were sewing in a rush it would work without the placket…but if I were sewing for someone else’s child, I’d put it in.

Oh this has so many levels of smiles.

@ellenmcm and @dubhels2003, I walk around in wrinkled clothing and refuse to iron clothes except for the following: my daughter’s clothes that *I* made and anything my son needs for a photograph or concert. Otherwise, it is totally an instrument of feminine oppression. My husband asked me once to iron…[Read more]

I have a Rowenta and I hate it. It has leaked almost since day 1. I’m of the opinion that if I pay $100 for an iron, it shouldn’t need “hacks” or coddling to do what I need it to do. The next one I buy will be a gravity feed, which means I’ll be sticking with this damn Rowenta until we get a new home with enough space for such a thing.

    The…[Read more]

I have a Rowenta I use dry with a spray bottle.

When I saw this topic, first I said oh no! Then I laughed, giggled even. Where else on earth does someone post about a dead iron and get sympathy?!

My kids wear interlock at night and our house is about 65f at night.

I have 6 in a clutches in production. I am doing it assembly line style. I love that little bag. I have 4 done and my closest friend wants 10 for gifts.

I’m suddenly feeling holiday pressure. But we’re accelerated because we are going on vacation from 12/15-12/20. Yikes!

  • I would suspect they’re looking at the page size of a page OTHER than the last page. You shouldn’t need to do anything to that pattern sheet except print it as is.
From all reports the ease of printing at a copy shop depends entirely on the staff member who serves you.
    Good luck

  • Oh no @jwo

I made Trixie a gorgeous white Hopscotch nightie yesterday which will stay pristine as I used a too firmer knit and it won’t go over her head.
    Le sigh.

I love flannelette pj’s. Amy Butler flannel is amazing. I have some jammies that are onto their third owner.

I finished Beatrix’s ‘go’ on my rota, on to Matilda, starting with a Jumprope school dress.
