I made my son the size 8 when he was 8 and I found that it was roomy for him and on the big side but I think this is designed with layering in mind. It did him for two seasons (just). In a nutshell, I swopped the collar and made it too long and the collar stand ate it! I have not tried it on yet… too nervous. I hope it looks okay, I really want to wear it to my son’s party.

I made my daughter some yoga pants with a ribbing waist and I did have to go back and add elastic
I unpicked a wee bit of the seam, threaded it through and then hand sewed it up again.

I haven’t done it but I think it will work really well. Whether you put elastic in will depend on how good the recovery of your ribbing is, and how much faith you have in it not stretching out over time.
