You girls read my mind, I thought a thread about sweet comments our children make (sewing or speeding related) could be fun.
Matilda asked if my friend in England (the one who lives with Doctor Who) could make her another dress as she *really* knows how to sew a good dress.
Um, thanks Tildy.
*Disclaimer, it is a gorgeous dress…[Read more]

There is nothing rude about a polite request. Our house rules are that you may change your mind up until it is cut out.
I made a good start on my Late Lunch tunic last night. I am using a silvery sheen black linen, I hope it will be dressy enough for the Murphy family christmas party in two weeks time.
On the cutting table…. a bolt of yummy…[Read more]

This was the first sew along I have done since the Jump Rope dress.
I really enjoyed it and my family were very supportive of me trying to keep up.
I ended up not making the padded liner, I may yet, but I will wait and see if Beatrix still fits in her coat come winter.Thank you so much Deb, Janice and Amanda for all your hard work. I know it is…[Read more]

Me three Brittney. (phone is Nokia)
Also, I’m curious about the avatars. Mine shows up in my profile, and in the toolbar at the top of the screen but not next to each post. It seems to me that lattemama and Todd are the only ones in this thread who have their pictures visible. -

I’m having that issue too. I was able to find it by searching for ‘sketchbook’:
and would imagine that the structure is the same for all the fora?

We have just lost power again! And here I was ready to use the iron on some fabric! Really really hoping it comes on sooner than reported and that it doesn’t go out again tomorrow. It is simply impossible to sew in the dark!
In a perfect world, tomorrow the power will be on and I will be able to get cracking on this coat!

And I freak out at the thought of having a 12 year old! I see that it might be a never ending thing here!
Have found more thread of the same colour/ shade and have almost finished the panel. Can’t wait to finish it totally and see it as a finished coat.

Cute @cybele727 !
I’ve got one to share too:
Driving with my three year old daughter in the car….
A: Mummy, what are those boxes on poles?
Me: They’re speed and red light cameras. If you go too fast, they take your picture….. (explanation of licence plate identification, driving laws and what it means to be “fined”)
A: Well you’d have to bring…[Read more] -
