In answer to your question Nicole, the biggies need everything! Miss Chloe just needs a few pretties in the 3-6 month size so they are ready but much more in the next size again – slow progress sewing.
It makes it very difficult when you have a little boy one minute then you see him literally growing in his sleep the next – my mother infuriated…[Read more]

Oh, that’s a good point — the PDFs can reach a wider audience. You probably know about this shop in Islington already but I remember seeing them there, maybe they’ll have it? http://www.raystitch.co.uk/

Britteny’s right. The darts don’t start until the size 2T. Below that they’re left out ’cause most toddlers have bellies bigger than their chests.
I’d start with the 18-24m size and cut the lining fabric (assuming it’s a cotton voile or something not too fancy) and use that as a muslin. Baste it and if it fits then there’s your lining already cut. -

I’m so surprised this one didn’t have the needed sales for another print run! This seems like everybody’s go-to fancy dress pattern.

Exactly @meleliza, I admire the skill involved and the time taken to do this. I tend to hand ball (this sort of thing) to Hugo as I am complete dunderhead when it comes to computers.

I found an hour to start Tildy’s velvet Field Trip cargoes. I cut the size 18-24 mnth with the length of the 5. The back leg is great but I have ended up with a too short front leg, I must have not got my measurements quite right. It is not a biggie though, I can add a wee panel to the bottom front leg as it will work with the existing panels.

Heidi its expensive and slow as a wet week! I ordered some miracle blankets and I swear they are walking them across the Nullabor still! They were sent ofer a week ago from NSW.
I managed to sew for an hour last night and again today. I didn’t get a heap done though – just a lot of fiddling and procastinating. I managed to cut and sew neck and…[Read more]

It is a shame postage is so expensive over to Tassie, I received a box of fabric and notions a few days back and there is a bendy ruler thing in there. I will toss it in with the polar fleece Heidi.
I finished a Field Trip tee for Tildy but the neck was too large and I missed it before I had topstitched it. I ended up making it work with poppers…[Read more]

Draft the pattern piece on to the the fabric, but leave extra length at the waist. You can cut that off if you need to.
Or add to it.I have a post here in which I muddled through the process, but it worked!

It certainly can be challenging running from one end of the house to the other. But if you plan it out it can be doable – i love my slow cooker for that purpose!
I had to help cut out a dolphin pattern with Imogen the other day. She sat there and stitched it together by hand minus instructions. With no power I have had no chance to sew but hope…[Read more]
