For the record: If you accidentally trace the size 10 waistband and facing, don’t try and attach it to the size 5 shorts. Doh.

The big navy back to school sewathon was going great guns, but now I’ve had a stuff up.
Somehow, the front waistband of my Class Picnic shorts was too big. My fabric had a bit of stretch, so I made it fit. Doh. Big, sticky out wavy waistband.
It will need to be unpicked, shortened, and reattached.
Tomorrow.

My Halloweeen hack of the School Days coat pattern to make dd’s requested belted peplum jacket with bell sleeves (she wanted to be Evie from the TV movie the Descendants..) went something like that. The zip fly instructions are the best I have ever used.

I feel your pain… but maybe you could still use the woven, just not at the neck binding? maybe some appliques or a pocket…

I would definitely buy and use a moto jacket pattern, I have used and used the School Days coat pattern — first as a raincoat, then as pirate coats, then as basis for this year’s raglan Descendants jacket.
