Nicole replied to the topic Preventing bodice lining from rolling into view at arm and neck holes in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 9 years ago
Generally, cord is fluffy and bulky enough that it ‘puffs’ up once sewn so it is unlikely to be a problem.
If you are worried you can trim a bee’s whisker off your lining pieces before sewing them to the bodice but then your will have to be aware of that and take care matching side seams and notches.

My sewing machine went off for service
Now the cinema dress is my purpose
Undaunted, I’ll make it
Top stitching? I’ll fake it! -
Nicole replied to the topic Use Corduroy Nap-Up? in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 9 years ago
I do, Liesl suggested it and it looks so lush.
I was always told the nap *must* run down but I adore the look the other way.
And as Tildy said when I made her this dress https://www.flickr.com/photos/motherof5/9047251334/in/pool-1729774@N23/ you must cuddle me upwards. -

Patricia, thank you, that is just what I was after.
So, you went with her height (+ extra) and that was plenty long enough? Her height, 3T, would have been perfect now? -

I am about to draft these off for Tildy. I would like them to fit now, not too bothered about growth room as I have Trixie to hand them down to.
Her height puts her in a 4 but her waist puts her in a 12-18 mnth. Her hip aligns to the 18-24 mnth.
I am leaning towards the size 2T with the length of a 4 but will they be impossibly baggy? Is there…[Read more]

I wish that I hadn’t
Because I’m a pedant
For the direction, the faux fur, will run.(Dedicated to Mel http://oliverands.com/community/forums/topic/alterations-advice )

Tamara, I am sorry for your loss.
Helen, good luck with your sewing. You will love the Lullaby. We had a day out yesterday and Trixie is very unsettled so I am hand sewing with a baby on my boob.

It really is Becky.
I have to admit I made a mistake in my first version as I assumed I knew what I was doing (blush).
I have a soft spot for this dress, I look forward to seeing your version. -

Very exciting trip to the city today to poke ’round a few salvage yards for materials to start my sewing room storage system.
My husband Jed and son Hugo are building it and both love timber and using recycled items.
I am pretty excited although it won’t be a quick project. Jed takes forever to build stuff but does an awesome job when he gets…[Read more] -
