Fiber Club! 10 years agoFirstly, pics. Or it didnthappen. I love me some Tosh yarn. I practicaly knit with it exclusively.
I tend to be this way with all ofmy crafts—I am obsessed with it until I am burned out. Then it has to go away for awhile while I become obsessed with something else, and somethIng else. Rinse and repeat. Thisbis how I keep the love…[Read more]

Fiber Club! 10 years agoAs an example of everything that’s wrong with knitting: I started a shawl project at the beginning of the soccer season (I can’t lug my sewing machine to the field, after all) and it was close to finished, so I motivated myself to finish it off. Lovely pink Tosh yarn, pretty pattern with lots of excellent reviews on ravely, not too hard, not too…[Read more]

Fiber Club! 10 years agoA month’s worth of weekends (including some days of 40C in Adelaide) has seen me finish 3 quilt tops. The must do content were a tablecloth/lap quilt, and a single bed quilt for my aunt/godmother who turn 88 in May. I’ve made many quilts during the last 10-15 years, but haven’t worked on any for a year. So I’m very pleased to have these projects…[Read more]

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoDoes anyone have a favorite Bombay potatoes recipie? Hubby had some at a restaurant that also had chickpeas included. We’ve been trying to reproduce it and had some great dinners but still haven’t found a favorite.

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoHas anybody got a good recipe for almond cookies? I’m looking for the ‘Chinese’ kind that I used to see in pink paper boxes, with a whole almond pressed into the top. Not sure how authentic they are!

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoMy new chooks are laying a dozen a day so I am making a lot of quiche type things. I fry up onions, garlic and chilli as a base and today added chicken breast, bacon and mushrooms. When that was crispy I poured over a dozen eggs beaten with 1/2 cup milk and a little SR flour blended in. Sprinkled with cheese and put the pan in the oven.
Served…[Read more]

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoI’ve never learned to love eggplant – maybe I should give it a try again.
I’m stuck on the quinoa. It’s so good, I’ve had it for lunch all last week and this week. I make a batch on Sunday night, divide it into 4 jars and top up with chicken, fish or beef. Perfect for lunch.
I use this recipe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnmjmHUUxsY (the…[Read more]

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoTonight, http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/24751/classic+moussaka, as I was given 3 beautiful glossy egg plants.
I added extra garlic, salt and pepper as well as salting my egg plant before cooking it. -

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoLotta, your food sounds so amazing!
I made this soup last week, https://www.pinterest.com/pin/73676143880130031/, I substituted light sour cream and used extra garlic.
Five hungry little Keller’s knocked off a double batch for tea. -

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoMy stepmom got me a CostCo gift card for Christmas. This might sound like a weird gift, but actually, I loved it. There certain things I’m weirdly stingy about, like Swiffers and Magic Erasers. I now have a lifetime supply of those. I did sneak in a few non-practical items, like an ENORMOUS bag of shelled pistachios. As I discovered the last time…[Read more]
