Goodness, dear RTWG, you are on a real sewing kick, aren’t you? So glad you have a good pattern for your nursing wear. Thank you everybody for your kind comments about the ‘profitable Popovers’. Apart from contributing to a good cause, I always hope that people might find their way to dear O + S as a consequence of buying one of my efforts. LoL,…[Read more]

When you ‘share’ the pics, you can adjust the ‘size’ to ‘medium’ which helps with loading, and downloading for the recipient. I’ve made the MB nearly as many times as RTWG (one of my favourite patterns) so I hope you can share on this site.

Ditto to all the others’ comments, dear Jenny. So pleased that your dear little girl is doing better, and recovering her looks, and presumably her energy. I do empathise with the agony of trying to stay strong for a child in pain when you can’t stop it, and the illness requires grisly procedures. (Been there with my godson when he was little, many…[Read more]

  • I haven’t added long sleeves to the garden party but I added the 3/4 from the School Photo Dress onto the family reunion dress. I used the top of the family reunion sleeve and the bottom of the school photo sleeve.
I think the garden party would look lovley with the 2+2 long sleeves. You will want to check the armsythe of the 2 patterns unless…[Read more]

I’ve seen a few versions of this dress featuring long sleeves but I am slightly confused. Was the short sleeved lengthened? Or was another sleeve used! And if so which?

I’d like to make a long sleeved version for my baby girl.

Ellen, a man’s shirt would be something I have a hankering to do. Unfortunately, my hibby doesn’t like me to even buy his shirts so making one would be a miracle.

I have the elastic and buttons to do on the pink hopscotch and then that is done.

I stuck together the hula hoops skirt and the butterfly pattern in preparation for the eventual making…[Read more]

I love making mens shirts Ellen.

Nearly finished Beatrix’s sewing turn and then on to Matilda.

Time to glue the Carnival PDF together.

  • It is a good question. The sleeve is kimono style and on a bias of sorts.

I think I would shorten by measuring from the sleeve cuff back, taking equal amounts from the sleeve front and the sleeve back. I would suggest leaving then sleeve a little longer then you anticipate too. You can always cut more off.

The hem on this sleeve behaves a little…[Read more]

Reading between the lines… the bodice buttons at the back so the front and the back will not be the same….

Could you either upload a smaller photo or link to a photo hosted elsewhere (flickr allows for pretty big files) — I’m afraid I’m having a bit of trouble picturing the problem you’re describing.
