I had a sewing win the other night. I managed to make a lullaby bodysuit and pants in one go.

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic what can I make for myself with a yard of 60" velvet? in the forum off topic 11 years ago
We have a skirt pattern coming out for Liesl and Co this spring that takes just a yard of fabric. It would be really cute in velvet, actually, if you can stand to wait until it’s finally released! It will be probably two months yet…

Jay I have no words of wisdom to add on the whole driving on the other side of the road thing as I have never done it! But I should think it will be a really great experience to be equipped with the knowledge of knowing how!
What do you do regarding obtaining an international driver’s license anyway? My nephew has just told us he applied for and…[Read more]

Cooking and Baking 11 years agoMy new chooks are laying a dozen a day so I am making a lot of quiche type things. I fry up onions, garlic and chilli as a base and today added chicken breast, bacon and mushrooms. When that was crispy I poured over a dozen eggs beaten with 1/2 cup milk and a little SR flour blended in. Sprinkled with cheese and put the pan in the oven.

I have an old treadle in my sitting room, I keep a block of wood under the foot pedal to stop the babies pinching their fingers. 🙂

No doubt you will settle in very well – especially if you have sewing friends nearby. Or even non sewing ones – amazing how such a skill can network to one’s advantage.
Yes Heidi jolly good idea to sew with a no need to iron it type fabric. Jay they have fleece on on the catalogue for Spotlight so will be thinking of you in the wintry weather you…[Read more]

Nicole replied to the topic Underlining? in the forum oliver + s: secret agent 11 years ago
Wow, that is a lot of work but looks amazing! I am sure that would work.
I am not a fan of binding seams (I love the look just find it a bit tedious) I would wonder about flannel for the main and something silky for the sleeves?
But I am sure the underlining would work really well.

I lined a Secret Agent trench very successfully and it had a lot more wear then the unlined versions.
I touch on it in this post http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/elsas-turn-again-lining-unlined-blazer.html
It is not a ‘proper’ method, but it worked well and the jacket has been handed down and still getting a lot of…[Read more] -

Lurve that Knight Hoodie, Hugo wants one!
I look forward to your reveal Shelley.
I finished up the knit Music Class blouse and Lunch Box culottes for Liddy, for a sneaky school uniform. She is very pleased and gave the culottes two thumbs up.
Next up, Hugo’s turn as the Twins doubled up last time. The Thread Theory Pea Coat in charcoal…[Read more]
