Last night I finished the 2+2 top. Today I hope to keep going on the music class shirt but am comsidering changing the sleeve to short ones considering our very out of character spring like weather when it is supposed to be cold and raining!

Even though they print from rolls, many 36″-wide printers are only able to print pieces up to a certain maximum length. I forget the exact length now (I always need to look it up when we have a long pattern), but it’s around 80-90 inches or so. If a pattern ends up being longer than this, we have to split it onto two sheets so it comes in under…[Read more]

Some of my patterns have been printed in two sheets, not sure about the reasoning- mostly the larger size ranges or adult patterns. I second looking for a local print shop, mine knew exactly what I needed and was better priced than the office supply chains.

It’s my understanding that 36″ wide paper comes on a roll. Should be able to print to whatever length you want.
Search for a print shop that will do blue prints. They’re not hard to find.

They are low but it is more pronounced on the smaller sizes. It is easy to lay the pattern pieces over each other and omit the pockets of you wanted to.
The pattern is great, though! Enjoy!

Grrr….put buttonholes on the wrong side of an art museum vest! AFTER already making a second set of fronts because I wasn’t happy with my welts the first time around!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I ended up spending some time looking at ones online and just drawing my own to get the specs right. (I was starting to feel like Goldilocks trying to find a pattern!)
It isn’t perfect, but good enough for a five year old boy in constant motion! And, he liked it and sat still for me to learn to tie it!

JoannaH, I think if you can get a good fit in the shoulders, and have the tunic glide over the rest of your body, it will look great.

Sew Alongs 10 years agoAny specific recommendation for the interfacing for the Parachute Polo? I have Pellon SF 101 but I think it’s a bit too heavy.

I’m chuckling to myself this morning Johannas. I saw the picture of JohannaO in the flickr group and thought the tunic was perfect, and wondered why she was asking for advice after the fact. Happy sewing Johanna!

To be honest, I don’t really know. I just wanted to experiment. I think it would have everything to do with where the seam was and what fabric you were using that would lend itself to advantages or disadvantages. I would think this way would be ideal to use with fabrics that are light but fray alot. This way cutting is kept to a minimum as you…[Read more]
