I did something similar the first time I made this pattern.

I’m making a garden party in slinky lilac/blue synthetic fabric, which I have overlaid with a nylon lilac/blue tulle. I have cut the tulle longer than the dress. I have sewn the dress by treating the tulle and fabric as one throughout. Due to the tricky nature of the fabric, which frays A LOT, I was planning to do french seams.

I should have updated with pictures, eh?
I didn’t have enough time to make and finish the chain mail shirt, but he claimed that the shirt would have been too uncomfortable and itchy after he wore the fitted chain mail hood all day. The checklist above is the current one. I intended to make the updated list a while ago but I have an issue from transferring between different versions of the software. I will make the list as soon as I get the new software.

Sew Alongs 10 years agoAddie, good question! There is quite a bit of design ease in this pattern, so you are correct that you may not need to do the FBA. If you’ve checked the fit and it seems to drape fine, you’re probably safe to go ahead with it as is.
