I had a problem like this too and brought it to my dealer. On mine here is a switch, in the area below the knife blade that moves up and down and moves a finger underneath the needle. If it’s down by accident it breaks my needles.

Thank you so much! I’m just starting to get back on my feet, and it’s been nice to have lots of reading to keep my occupied during my recovery. Many weeks to go before I’m fully myself again, so I appreciate any reading suggestions you send my way! xo

I recently had this problem as well. As it turned out, the hook itself needed to be replaced because it had bent. I’d recommend bringing it to a good repair shop who can analyze the problem for you. It’s probably best if you can show them exactly what’s happening. Now that mine has been replaced it’s running like a dream–for the first time in…[Read more]

Are you wanting to use Fairy Tale/Book Report because those are the patterns you already own? If you need to find out whether that exact combo has been done before, I’d suggest either editing the title of this thread, or posting a new question, in hopes of catching the eye of somebody who’s done that specific thing. I did a search of the flickr…[Read more]

Do you have an image of a particular dress that feels the most Little House to you? The Playdate seems closest to me, and wouldn’t require any mashing, but you might have a different image in mind:

Thank you @motherof5 Nicole,
Little Miss didn’t seem bothered at all by the length, so I think I’ll leave it in, and eventually she’ll grow into it. There is room in the shoulders too (she doesn’t fill them to the darts yet), so I hope she can wear it for a couple years at her growing rate…
Lovely dress you made for your daughter (and what a…[Read more] -

Hi Nicole,Thank you for checking. Sorry I didn’t get back to you. Late night and busy day. Yes it did. I had similar trouble to others with printing where it kept printing at 7/8inch. I had it on the 100% – which on Mac (or Canon) is same as no scale. I’m not sure if it was the Mac or Canon driving the options but in my print dialogue box there…[Read more]

Hi,
I made a little Carousel in size 2yrs. The photo on the front let me think it would be about knee length, however, it turned out much much longer than that in the 2yrs size. Admittedly, my little model is petite, but still, it looks like the whole length of the hem should have not been there.
Am I the only one in this situation? Have I made…[Read more]

Hi Nicole
Thanks for your reply. I too am in AUS.Yes that helps. It was just the way it was phrased as if each of the test squares might be different. It would be good if each said 1 inch in the box. Anyway you’ve reassured me. Thank you. Joan -

I’m working with my first Oliver and S pattern (School Bus Tee shirt) but my third digital pattern. I’m not understanding this instruction. Measure the test square on each page to ensure the pattern has printed to the appropriate scale. What is the appropriate scale? It doesn’t tell me until the second test square. Do I assume the previous test…[Read more]

Of course they look professional!
I’m sewing another Pettiskirt. I haven’t sewn one for a while but I had the impulse to so I am 🙂 Not sure if I’ll give it to the recipient when finished or put it away until her birthday in December. -

I made a muslin of the Alabama Chanin corset top. After all my flat pattern adjustments, grading over pretty much all the sizes and adding 3.5″ of length between bust and armhole. I am very impressed with the fit and look. I had to take the neckline by 1″, 1/2″ over 2 seams. And the armholes by 1/2″ at the princess seams. I need to finish the…[Read more]
