I recently, like 2 weekends ago, raised up a table on PVC Pipe legs to serve as my cutting table. It is wonderful! I used to cut out and work at the kitchen bench but that really was still too low, my new surface is approximately 20cm (8″) higher (than the kitchen bench/counter). So much more comfortable to work at and more space 🙂

I’d be nervous about glue, too. Nicole’s idea to ease it a bit is a good one. You could maybe try a little fusible interfacing to help stabilize it on the wrong side of the fabric? Also, if you’re able to change the amount of pressure of your presser foot that may help to reduce drag, or if you have a walking foot that would be useful too. If it’s…[Read more]

Yay! I’m happy to contribute and write something but it would probably be better written by someone who has had a sewing room for a while and has gone through the process of establishing what works for them and what doesn’t.
I am really looking forward to sewing how other people organise their space. -

It’s great to have an active new member! I’m so sorry I haven’t got any experience with this issue — I have got some rippling on very light weight fabric but have seemed to be able to steam/press it out and loosen the stitch tension a tick. Hopefully one of the clever folks here will be along shortly to chime in.

I could do the Puppet Show if no one else wants to, I have been meaning to make that one again.

I’d love to do the Bubble dress, Sarvi – it was my first ever O+S in the smallest size, and I can’t quite believe it’s already time to make the 5T.

Hi Reeni! I’m so sorry, I got busy and dropped the ball on this one. Thanks for the reminder. An upsized Puppet Show absolutely counts! Where in our sewing lists are we all at the moment? What would be the best way to organize it?
How does this sound — since there’s a lot of interest in the Puppet Show, would some like to host a sew-along for…[Read more] -

Ha ha! I read the question title and was thinking “I vaguely recall making some comparison between those….”
I think the bedtime story do use less fabric for the size. They’re perhaps my favourite of the two pants. - Load More
