Thread Paintings: Densely Embroidered Portraits by Cayce Zavaglia
I saw this article this morning via Amy Pohler’s Smart Girls website (which incidentally you should really check out, esp. if you have young girls). Can you imagine the patience it would take to create such a work?! I think I might…[Read more]

I don’t bother ironing knits before cutting (in fact I try not to iron anything ever, but that’s me) as it just seems to make the edges curl even more. If I were patient enough I’d take Nicole’s advice and let it settle. The only time I think too much about cutting knits is if they’re stripey and I’m trying to match stripes. Just in case you misheard, you could make the bag and then put some of these yummy yoghurt balls inside it! I know Id be delighted…

Thanks so much, ladies! She asked for a yoga ball, so I am figuring she does yoga — but if it’s for another exercise she can always give it to a friend, I’m sure.

I usually need a place to put my keys and hold my water bottle. If it’s cold, maybe extra space for a sweatshirt. I really like this pattern (bonus, it’s free), http://www.fabriceditions.com/shop/product/escape-yoga-bag/ , I feel like it would suit my needs well. I just need to get around to making one for myself.

Hi folks, I want to make a yoga bag for my sister, but I don’t do yoga (actually now that I think about it, not sure she does either). What would be some useful features? An extra bag to hold wallet, keys, phone, water? Or should that be integrated into the yoga bag? Do you use anything else when you do yoga?

I’ve used the Cloud 9 flannels before and liked them — the ‘pink’ is more of a peach/apricot:
Maybe elephants in peach for her, aqua for him? Or elephants for him, foxes for her?

Nicole, did you find that the bodysuit was sized to fit over cloth diapers, or should I go up a size? My new niece is due any second and she will be wearing cloth 🙂

Yes, I have done it. Just lay the pieces out and see where they will all fit before cutting.
