I can’t think of a good starter
But I’ll wear my hair shirt like a martyr
I’ll hunt for a rhyme
With my eye on the time
Oh my, I don’t think I could laugh any harder. There once was a designer from New York

Hm, What to make for those I hold dear?

The decision distresses..

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic pleats in the forum liesl + co: girl friday culottes 11 years ago
Wow, I’ve ballsed this up big time….
The culottes appeared to fit, so I trimmed the waistband down to fit the culottes. I ended up taking 1″ off each end! The waistband was still generous compared to the culottes.
Curiously, while the back notches were out by about 1″ (as expected) the front notches matched perfectly???
Anyway, they’re finished…[Read more] -

@Ejensewchat I’ve just found exactly the same issue as you. My waistband is bigger than my culottes waist. I’m a pretty precise dart and pleat sewer so I’m unsure what’s gone wrong. I am using a stretch chambray/denim, but given that the waistband is interfaced it will stretch much less. Bit baffled as to why it’s this way round and not a smidge…[Read more]

Ha! Thank you McStitch, pretty sure any yummy treats would not survive my sewing room in sufficient numbers to be presented as a gift.
I’ll have a peek at the Amy Butler also, thank you Robin!

Oooh, rotary blades are so super sharp, please do be very careful. I just use a seam ripper for everything. It’s a bit slower than ripping out an ordinary seam as there’s more thread, but it’s still just thread loops so the concept is the same. Have you got one of these things?

I love the lace, on the pink pajamas on Flickr, by Marlene. I would like to try this and I’m curious if the lace will curl up when it is washed? If so would I hand stitch the outside edge of the lace?

Tamara, she will have the most beautiful wardrobe!
I’ve been making some fabric butterfly ornaments to give as gifts. https://www.flickr.com/photos/73669617@N07/15929695546/in/pool-sewlisette
I’ve also been sewing another explorer vest is a beautifully plush burgundy courduroy. I just hope it’s masculine enough as I’m running out of Christmas…[Read more] - Load More
