  • I know. If testing wasn’t such quick turnaround I’d love to have overseas testers! But you know how long shipping takes. For future reference, however, if you live abroad (from the U.S., that is) and have access to inexpensive oversized printing we may be able to work something out! Email me and let me know if this is the case, ok? I’d love to…[Read more]

  • EDITED: We have all the testers we need for now, but please see my note at the bottom of this thread if you’re overseas and would be interested in testing in the future. Thank you so much, everyone! What a talented and enthusiastic group you are!!!

We get emails from people wanting to be pattern testers all the time. Here’s your opportunity! I…[Read more]

  • We get emails from people wanting to be pattern testers all the time. Here’s your opportunity! I need a few people to test a women’s skirt for our spring collection. The pattern has already been tested, but I want to be absolutely sure it’s correct since we had a little grading glitch the first time.

I have made myself three dresses and a lightweight coat last year, so I want to continue to make as many clothes for myself as I can so I don’t have to buy much. I want to perfect fitting and learn bra making. I also want to continue making clothes for my youngest granddaughter but also get into making garments for my two grandsons- bought…[Read more]

  • My serger theading method is closer to Nicole’s than to the video’s. That jet air looks dreamy!

I love this thread, by the way. Any video requests for this year?

  • Nicole, I like that “you can change your mind until it’s cut.” Lots of oppituinty for discussion and working out what you want 🙂
It looks like another day of summer storms. We’ve had about 1 a fortnight here for the last 6 weeks. I don’t rember so many summer storms other years.
I want to sew a small messenger bag, finish my bathers, sew a scarf…[Read more]

  • I want to make the Bistro for me.

I need to make 3 pairs of Afterschool pants for my daughter. She loves that pattern and I love that I can fit her no butt, no waist, no hips body so that they actually STAY up and don’t flash butt crack.

I want to take time to really learn from my Craftsy classes to help with fit. (I got Joi’s Fit class, and…[Read more]

I had an annoying afternoon and thought I’d relax for a few minutes and watch a video on using my serger. This might have been … too relaxing.

  • I bought really cheap blackout curtains at Walmart a couple years ago for my older daughter’s nursery. Not terribly attractive, but lightweight and pretty effective – and cheap! I think each curtain was about $8. Two years and a cross-country move (and one more child!) later, they don’t fit the windows in the house we have now. I cut up one of the…[Read more]

I’m thinking I’m going to give @motherof5 ‘s rota system a try this year – I picked up quite a few Thread Theory patterns during their New Years sale (the wardrobe builder set – Strathcona henley, Jedediah pants, and Newcastle cardigan – and the Camas blouse for me), so together with Liesl’s new patterns, there’s quite a lot of sewing I can now do…[Read more]
