What a wonderful idea Sherry! I find my girls often have trouble visualising what a dress will look like in fabric. Cutting out inside the lines would definitely help! I may pick you up on that.

Lotta, what a thoughtful thing to do, thank you. I have downloaded and will print them all onto card stock, then cut out inside the lines to place over fabric to help granddaughter imagine what each outfit will look like finished.
Also going to give her mum a copy so they can work out next seasons wardrobe. Great way to build a wardrobe and…[Read more]

I cobbled together a colouring book with the Oliver + S line drawings from the back of the pattern envelopes. You can find a download link on the blog post linked above.

@Yirg You might be able to buy a copy from a store, for exmple in the UK the smaller size in paper is available here http://www.eternalmaker.com/fairy-tale-dress-pattern-oliver-s
I’ll definitely be buying it in the smaller size in paper now I know that it’s not being reprinted!

The Fairy Tale dress, in the small size range only, has indeed gone out of print. It’s still available as a digital pattern. As is always the case, when we near the end of our stock on an item we evaluate sales and determine if there is justification to do a reprint. This pattern wasn’t selling at the level required to maintain it in paper.

I think I might nearly be up to a muslin 🙂 In some ways the pattern no longer looks like the original, but I have a much better idea why most RTW and sewn straight from the pattern pants pretty much never fit!
It’s been about 4 hours work so far just on flat pattern adjustment and probably another hour or so before it’s ready for the muslin…[Read more] -

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 11 years agoI believe it is broken down into 2 size ranges – 1-4 and 5-8. Here’s a link for the size 5-8 that I searched on google. I KNOW the back of the pattern has sizes 1-8 listed, so I think it is legit!

Thanks Nicole! I have a 50cm/20″ one which has been fantastic but not quite long enough for my crotch curve 🙁 I Know postage within Australia is shockingly expensive!

I made myself a faux wrap top yesterday! I modified the penny pinafore and it worked beautifully 🙂
Todsy I’m trying to get shorts to fit, I hope I can find where to buy a long flexible curve ruler locally as I think it will make the process much easier 🙂 -

No, no voting. It has designated judges. Hence the small panic and dress deconstruction/reconstruction. But I sat down yesterday, and whirred at the machine, and I’m much happier. Fine tooth comb and all.

Well if it is a muslin and not a final product, I don’t think it will matter too much. After all the point of the muslin is to get the sizing/fit right anyway.
