I wrote up a list of Oliver and S patterns that only used half a yard a while ago. I’ll see it i can find it.
I remember the badminton top and Swingset tunic being on there. I think you’ll need some contrast fabric to make it work. -
Inder started the topic Has anyone added pockets to the Butterfly Skirt? in the forum oliver + s: butterfly blouse + skirt 10 years ago
I just finished the blouse and I’m about to start making the skirt, but I am feeling an overpowering urge to add side slash pockets. I’m thinking of using the Sketchbook Shorts pocket as a basic starting point (but with a straight rather than curved opening). Has anyone tried adding pockets to the skirt? Maggie is at the “I love pockets!” age, and…[Read more]

Inder replied to the topic Neck facing puckering in the forum oliver + s: butterfly blouse + skirt 10 years ago
I just made this blouse for my daughter and I had to iron the living daylights out of both the neckline and and armhole facings to make it lie flat. While the method for bias facing in the pattern is nice and simple, I like cutting thinner strips of bias and then ironing the long sides towards the middle like single-fold bias tape. I feel like it…[Read more]

Sew Alongs 10 years agoOur friend Sarvi is here to walk us through sewing the Tea Party Dress. This post originally appeared as part of the Size 5 Project.

Sew Alongs 10 years agoOur friend, Brittney, is here to walk us through how to sew the Puppet Show Shorts. This originally appeared on the blog as part of the Size 5 Project.
We all know how great Liesl’s instructions are. They are what taught me to sew, so we will be following them to the letter. Sometimes it helps to have photographs, though, and sew-alongs…[Read more]

I just finished my first Jelly Roll Race quilt top! 3 hours start to finish, including cutting 40 2.5″ fabric strips and the pressing at the end 🙂
Back to work tomorrow, I probably won’t get nearly as much sewing done during the week 🙁 -

Sewing friends sure are the best
Better than all of the rest
They’re there every time
To offer a rhyme
And to help if you’ve messed up your vest! There’s nothing that I would like more
