Heidi I think the design is interesting and just by looking at the pattern, I am expecting them to sew up easily and fast. I will have to ask Imogen her thoughts on fit and ease of wear etc because they are for her. I will never fit into the size range possibly ever – possibly.
So one is cut out and the next is ready to be cut and both will be…[Read more]

I have finally managed the time to cut out the first (of a few) Tania culottes, a Megan Nielsen pattern. I’m doing the short version for my eldest – because I only bought two metres of fabric – the small size does fit btw but with pattern fiddling and my fabric is only 112cm wide so no doubling up.
Now to see if I have the right sized zipper….

It would be a fabulous excuse to look at more ideas and patterns to fit your new body then Heidi! Congratulations on your weightloss. I am looking forward to shedding some kilos also but I find that nursing keeps my weight even so I believe this whole breastfeeding will help shed kilos theory is non existent. So it is still a fact that every…[Read more]

Oh goodie! Will have to go check the photos out!
I am still plodding away at the pj’s but will complete them shortly. Then will indulge in some button sewing and catching up on a few loved programs.
I am also tracing some patterns, Megan Nielsen’s Tania culottes view 1 and Simplicity 1158 view a – the short version.
I have been given a list…[Read more]

I can’t answer your question I’m afraid, but I have just seen the top on your Flickr feed and it’s gorgeous. I love the ikat print.

YES! @Ekmenally you genius! I knew someone had lined this dress!
@sallycsklarsky if you go through the post in the link Elizabeth just put up, you will see it lined – I was imagining this method so maybe pictures would help? Excellent! -

I just recently made the Maritime in a woven cotton, making it a peplum top according to Liesl’s instructions from the blog last week. I did use one size bigger than I measured since I wasn’t using a knit, but I didn’t think about extra seam allowance before I cut my fabric. I wen’t ahead and sewed it up using the 1/4″ SA according to the…[Read more]

You could also modify the dress as Rachel did here: http://oliverands.com/community/blog/2013/12/customizing-with-oliver-s-modified-puppet-show-dress.html
I think her version is fully lined. -

I think your idea for fully lining this dress would be completely achievable. After popping on and reaquainting myself with Nicole’s tute (and being completely surprised by the way because I was certain she’s lined this one already), I was thinking that if you did the bodice as per normal and make a lining as per the skirt…[Read more]

Hi @sallycsklarsky, I have been mulling this over for a few days now.
May I point out my tute https://www.pinterest.com/pin/73676143876173067/ ? Have a look at that and I will come back and add how I think a lining may work.
Sorry not to be more help.

Have a look at Titchy Threads patterns. The Small Fry skinny jeans should tick all your boxes.
I haven’t made them up, but I have made the Twisted Trousers which have pocket with pocket bag coin pocket etc and excellent instructions. I made them in denim and they’ve been great looking jeans.
Based on that pattern, I’m sure the jeans pattern could…[Read more] - Load More
