I can’t believe Easter is only at the end of March! I have something lacey and heirloomish (is this a word?) planned. But the time has to permit!
@roundtheworldgirl the plans for your son’s outfits for both wedding and Easter sound really gorgeous. I hope they come together easily for you.

Sew Alongs 8 years ago@mariajsanroman was it the extra bulk when you came to the French seams when you were hemming that made it more difficult? If so, try clipping away part of the French seams near the hem (but not too much) so that when you are hemming there will be less bulk and make it easier to hem. Hope that helps!

I can see where he gets the required authenticity label from – handmade in renaissance period and definitely not hired or bought online – unless if it was claimed from the property of another during a take over maybe?
Sometimes the time gets away from us and the ideas we have just have to be replaced with simpler versions.

I’m making a garden party in slinky lilac/blue synthetic fabric, which I have overlaid with a nylon lilac/blue tulle. I have cut the tulle longer than the dress. I have sewn the dress by treating the tulle and fabric as one throughout. Due to the tricky nature of the fabric, which frays A LOT, I was planning to do french seams.
