We have just had a storm here and it has taken our power so sewing is out of the question. I can cut out though and finally make up my mind over the lining fabric.

I am busy adding texture to the school days jacket yoke and hood.

Oh good I am sighing with relief at the thought of not having to sew along solo because of busy past week. I am going to aim to complete most of the special treatment today and then cut the pieces out. Should this step be successful, I may do the same as you and spend larger blocks of time on it to get it done a little faster.

I have! I made one last year for my then eleven year old (she’s now 12). I shortened the sleeves because of our summer heat and used a knit. She wore it around the house and then decided it was so comfy, she used it as her nightie.

Looks like there has been some bought time where this baby is concerned. It now looks likely we have another week up our sleeve. Of course the date is not set in stone, we actually have three to choose from but one is a definite “no way!” We have four weeks to really decide when baby’s birthdate will actually be and then there is no turning back…[Read more]

I might get to cut it out tonight. I saw some very beautiful wool yesterday – online! I might do mine in corduroy after all.

Well today is camp day for Imogen. I was asked what the time was every five minutes on the way to school she was so excited. It is just an overnight camp but I was loading the shopping in the car when the bus went by and I felt like I needed to cry! It is the first of many steps away for her and I know she will be fine.
