He tells me he has milo on everything 😜😳 but then he is training with the wrestling team and of course needs the stuff for energy. He tells me it tastes wierd (no offence to Canadian products or anything. I think he is used to the way it tastes at home). He’s also been looking for timtams and can’t find them anywhere.

I did look up some…[Read more]

Karen will you put them in with the others for the monochrome project. Just add #oliverandsmonochrome to them in flickr so we can find them because we would love to see them and it looks like several ladies have made something and missed the deadline. It’s no biggie!

In terms of the sewalong, audition some fabrics is the way I find best when I…[Read more]

  • So Reeni, have you popped a photo up yet? Can’t wait to see. I have a pair of puppet show shorts that didn’t quite make the deadline but they will be in the pile someday (soon I hope).

@cybele727 (just pretend this is a dancing emoticon)😃 That means I can get all the yellow fabric out of my stash. I don’t know why I have so much but its there and…[Read more]

I have just received a phone call from my adult nephew who is currently in Canada on a uni exchange for a semester. He is actually thinking of transferring for a further semester should his exchange not be able to be extended. This is a good sign. Although he says he misses elements of home, like some foods. Being an athletic chap, he gets to…[Read more]

I spend a few minutes finding out more of this pattern you are using Heidi. It sounds very interesting and looks like a nice dress to sew. Will you show us a pic when you are done?

I thought about heading back into the sewing room this evening but decided on other things. It was just aswell as the evening would have been (pleasantly) interrupted.

Ok the hot weather has hit and sifting through the baby’s nightwear, I have discovered she requires a more appropriate size of bodysuit. 3-6 months (or rtw 00) still fits but they are snug. So it is bodysuit time. I will trace the 6-12 and 12-18 month sizes together when she is napping so I don’t have to go back and trace again for a wee…[Read more]

  • I made my son the size 8 when he was 8 and I found that it was roomy for him and on the big side but I think this is designed with layering in mind. It did him for two seasons (just). It all depends on if he has a huge growth spurt (and often they grow in different areas at different times). It can be difficult to tell.

    I would make the 2T and…[Read more]

  • Do you think we could call it an “ugly to me” challenge? After all beauty is very definitely in the eye of the beholder and what if like you say, you think its rotten but everyone else says it fabulous – or – (shock horror) it’s the opposite😱😱?

What about a “colour I wouldn’t choose normally” challenge? For me it would be something like green or…[Read more]

  • I have a question, how do we define the criteria that would determine a fabric to be ugly?

And I like what nzsewist suggested regarding the possibility of a plaid/ check challenge.

Thanks @whereforart will certainly take a look.

I am currently altering the b6182 skirt (again) as the first altered version has mysteriously disappeared. I have made this before in a stretch sateen but now am going to use navy linen and light blue denim to make a couple more.
