Thanks @todd for this helpful information. From what I can gather, needlewoman2 has been off for a good while and I think it would have been something different, possibly related to her computer perhaps. I am not sure but I will pass on the information you have provided above, in the hope that it does improve the issue for her.

    I didn’t get the…[Read more]

    Hello everyone

I had an email from Needlewoman2 the other day. She asked if I would be so kind as to post something on the forum for her. She is not able to login at all! I am wondering how we can best help her with this?

@todd would you be able to help at all?

    She writes….

“As you can see from the pic, my 5 nieces were the glamour girls…[Read more]

This week I made a Library dress from Amy Butler love fabric (the one with the bouquets) in size 12-18 months for Chloë and a traveller dress to fit me in navy linen and used red thread to attach the buttons.

I have to finish three t shirts – Megan Neilsen Briar and a simplicity playsuit for my eldest.

The Bento tee is on the list to be…[Read more]

  • Heidi I would line them in a cotton. The wool sounds as though it could irritate sensitive baby skin. I’d use a cotton as natural fibres are best for baby.

  • @ldk237 I understand. We all put so much effort into our sewing. We deserve to show it off and say “Look what I made!” A headless pic is a good idea and keeps some anonimity. And I agree modelled pics are better. It is an individual choice but I am glad you are coming around to the idea of joining in and posting your photos.

  • @ldk237 don’t feel bad, I was late to the party also. Some ladies have been experiencing some scary security issues on Flickr, so if you do start a flickr account, this is a heads up. May I give you a little advice? To avoid possible things happening to photos containing the children you sew for, I would increase the security on those modelled…[Read more]

  • @ldk237 do you have an instagram account? I have noticed lots of ladies seem to be posting their things on instagram also, if this is any help. We would love to see your sewing. The items above are just gorgeous.

I was pulling some rather beautiful fabric from my stash today with a bid to make a dress for my toddler to wear to a memorial on…[Read more]

  • I can’t believe Easter is only at the end of March! I have something lacey and heirloomish (is this a word?) planned. But the time has to permit!

@roundtheworldgirl the plans for your son’s outfits for both wedding and Easter sound really gorgeous. I hope they come together easily for you.

I can see where he gets the required authenticity label from – handmade in renaissance period and definitely not hired or bought online – unless if it was claimed from the property of another during a take over maybe?

Sometimes the time gets away from us and the ideas we have just have to be replaced with simpler versions.

@thejennigirl how did the costume go?

I have almost finished the culottes. i have had many interruptions and disruptions that have put the sewing on the back burner. I just have the waistband facings to stitch down and they’re done.

Imogen needs a new swimsuit and in a hurry, so I have downloaded some Jalie patterns pdf style and plan to make…[Read more]

@katybellabug if only we coukd make Gene wear a Johnny depp mask!😜 I do understand what you mean, I have never really been a fan myself but it was fun to watch with the kids….

Johnny’s costume was pretty spectacular, I loved his bug eyed glasses.

Oh my! What an honour to have a leading role in the school play! We were just watching the 1970’s version of the movie, the one with Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka the other day.

I would say that costume in particular, for me, epitomises the very character!

But…. You could make a destinguished looking cahracter based on your own…[Read more]
