They do sell Manchester/homewards online, V, but not fabric. I think you can mail order catalogue fabric though – but only from the current catalogue…

Timely thread – my (paper! Woohoo!) patterns arrived this afternoon and I was just reading the FBA directions on this – step 5 says to end the dart about 1″ from the marked apex, which seemed strange to me – but I guess your issue is why, Sarvi

And I have been hankering after a woman’s trench pattern a la the Secret Agent 🙂

And here are the ones Peta made and that I totally copied being modeled:

Great for a big boy too

I’ve made these for my boys – they make great boy pants. The rise is not an issue:

Nicole posted about her lengthened trousers here:

And agree with Cat75 – good point about crotch length

I use the same ‘pin’ method as Shelley. And @lightningmcstitch – re notches – my mother taught me to always cut my notches out rather than in – much safer 🙂

We’re having a quiet weekend here – today (Good Friday) we’re taking the kids to the Royal Easter Show (Ag show) – but they are more excited by the idea of rides and show bags rather than seeing the animals etc ;-). We have dinner at my parents’ every Sunday, so nothing different there. Hoping to do lots of sewing over the weekend – and over the next two weeks (our school holidays start today and we have two weeks off).

Greek Easter falls next weekend, so we will be spending time with John’s family for that.

As well as eggs, the Kids usually get some clothes (winter) and a book. For the last few years they’ve also got a pair of handmade pj’s, but afraid they won’t be this year – it’s been too busy for sewing.

….I just did the conversion – 50F is 10C – that is seriously middle of winter at its worst for me, and for anyone else who lives in a moderate climate. I’d be moving if 50F was a normal summer temp!

I’d go a dress in a pretty floral fabric (and you do Liberty so well, MC!) – long sleeves and a cardi – and seconding Nicole’s call for a singlet. Tights but maybe not boots 🙂

Ha! That is the suburb next to me – anyone want me to pick it up for them?? (& hey, who is the fellow O+S sewer who lives so close to me?)

Oh, yes, a larger hat pattern please (including adult sizes!)

Honestly, I’d make a skirt with it rather than a top, and 1 yd is heaps for a skirt. The Everyday skirt would look great, and I have used velvet to make several MIP A+ skirts. (I love wearing them – but have to stop myself stroking the fabric in public!)
