    Ok quick update! I did mash up the puppet show and tea party play suit and I’m posting a picture of the results! I’m pretty pleased, except that the fabric I chose is pretty awful. But that’s what I get for trying to shop my stash. I guess I’ll just have to make some more. Also, I think I’m going to hand embroider some sail boats on the front. Is that too much?

    @lightningmcstitch and @lattemama, we LOVE Doctor Who. My husband is trying to force me to make him a 10th Doctor costume for halloween (or a Lucius Malfoy costume from Harry Potter, trying to figure with one will be easier haha). We are currently out of them on Netflix so we have to wait for the season airing to be over get more 🙁

    Lightning Mcstitch, the french show sounds interesting! I’ve been trying to find something to watch to brush up on my french (we are heading to Montreal this summer so I’ve been working on my french)

    Latte Mama, we haven’t tried watching Torchwood but it’s in our list. We do watch and love Agents of Shield as well.

    @justsewit
    , my husband refuses to watch big bang theory. It’s because he is so much like Sheldon Sheldon wouldn’t watch that show hahaha. I’ve been wanting to see Maleficent!

    We’ve also been watching Friends (which we were watching last night as I was hand sewing a ribbon on some Roman Shades that I’ve been working on for weeks for the living room and as I was attatching this ribbon, my dog jumped down off the couch and peed on the curtain. I am still mad at her) and we were watching Once Upon A Time but haven’t in a really long time now.

    @rhythm, watermelon salad sounds amazing! I’ll definitely be trying that! I’m excited that you have lots! Lunch is what I struggle with most while trying to eat more vegetarian.

    @roundtheworldgirl
    I’m glad you liked it!! I do a good bit of vegan as well, especially dessert 🙂 I love vegan dessert. I don’t know why haha

    I would say check girlcharlee.com. I have purchased some great stuff on their website. It’s always hard to buy fabric online since you don’t know what it’s going to feel like. I haven’t purchased any fleece from them, though. I think fabric.com does some samples if you have the time (or patience) to wait for fabric samples to come. I bought a sweatshirt fleece from them a couple seasons ago (the kind that’s not just a fleece but actually has the knit fabric front to it like a real sweatshirt) and I really liked it.

    The fabric fairy has nice knits as well but again, I haven’t checked their fleece out personally. In town, I usually use Joann fabrics and they have a large and varied fleece selection.

    Top of the Lake sounds awesome. Sounds like my husband would like that one too!

    I tried watching Game of Thrones but I think I like the book better (not to be clique hahaha but because I get a little scared of action-y graphic-y stuff and when reading books, it’s only as graphic as your mind lets it be). But Ed is super into Game of Thrones! The story of it is great!! Are you into Firefly or Doctor Who type things, @vothgirl? We are big nerds over here haha!! Super fantasy and sci fi fans in general 🙂 We’ll check out those other shows, too! We’re always looking for new shows to queue. It’s so sad when you reach the end of a show. It’s like loosing a group of friends, in a really sad, tv world kind of way.

    @Sarvi
    , I haven’t gotten very far, I’m in season two, but I love love love Gilmore Girls. I can’t wait to see how it unfolds!

    I think the Mindy Project is on Netflix too! I’ll check that out! What chick shows do you like? I sometimes make my husband suffer through the Vampire Diaries and Gilmore Girls haha

    Sarvi, love this! I love NPR. I’m pretty sure this was the exact story that my husband listened to that caused him to start buying jeans from companies where they make them themselves (right here in North Carolina, actually). And he makes me make his t-shirts and button downs. I’m not complaining to much 😉

    I think about this a lot, actually. I live in the US, I grew up in Charleston, SC, lived in Florence, SC during college, spent the first 5 1/2-ish years after college in Greenville, SC (which used to be a huge textile area but has since died out. I did have some friends living there who were still in the textile industry) and we just moved to western North Carolina. Anyway, the point of this is that towards the end of living in South Carolina, all of the quilting shops started carrying a locally made fabric. Everything was done locally, from growing the cotton, to weaving the fabric to dying. I bought that as often as I could but it was only in solid colors and only in quilting cotton variety so that limited what projects I could use it for.

    Anyway, the best answer that I’ve come up with is that I do the best I can. I try to make sure that I’m making ethical fabric choices but the industry isn’t perfect so I can’t be. However, I think by first choosing the most local, most ethical fabric (as far as making sure that workers are getting paid properly), we are voting with our money. And those kinds of votes are the ones that the manufacturers will hear, in my option.

    I think about this much more when I am purchasing ready to wear clothing. I want to make sure that I’m giving my money to someone who is paying their employees correctly. I get really concerned when I go to Belk and see an item marked down from $50 to $8 (this is a true story, I have seen this).

    I haven’t heard of Top of the Lake. What’s it about?

    MASH is awesome! We were watching the one called Adam’s Ribs last night and They talked about ribs so much that we had to go out and buy ribs for dinner for tonight haha. They are in the oven now! And thanks @sarvi 🙂

    I just saw this but I’m totally in! My daughter (almost 3) saw the butterfly pattern and just about lost it she wanted the skirt so bad so I’m letting her “help” me 😉

    Oh yes! I love that idea too! This child is going to have a lot of outfits! Ok so this might sounds crazy but bare with me for a moment. What if I used the puppet show top and the tea party sunsuit bottom and modified them to mash together. It would have the collar, a line to add piping to the bodice and I could embroider the bodice with little sailboats (sister loved things with sailboats when we were looking at little boy outfits together).

    I definitely agree with that. I love a tartan. That is so cute and both ideas are adorable! I will definitely be adding those to my sewing list for my future nephew! Look at how little they are!!

    I do have the puppet show, @motherof5! Yes I’ll definitely try that! The hide and seek would be adorable too! What color do you think? I’m so inexperienced at sewing for boys! Give me baby girl and I’m golden but I’m still learning to get my creative juices flowing for little boy things! Hopefully this nephew will help things along 😉
