  • Hello all,

I would just like to submit a bit of information that has really helped me out with printing. A friend of mine told me about a program through HP that has changed the way I print! HP (Hewlett Packard) has printers that are set up to use a subscription service. The subscriptions are very affordable, $2.99/mo, $4.99/mo, and $9.99/mo. All…[Read more]

  • It came, it came! I live in Dallas and my book arrived today! It looks just beautiful! Todd & Liesl, how you must get a special thrill seeing S in the book….tell her she looks lovely!

Now to finish up our school day so I can start reading! 😀

    Hello everyone!

    It’s been a long time since I’ve posted….what a year!

I am happy to be back to work on a double pinwheel quilt for youngest son (10) in black/hot red/neon green. Sounds hideous, but the sample blocks look great!

Next is some maternity items for ME! These will occupy me until my order for Woodland Clearing fabric comes in to…[Read more]

  • Mine is very nearby, too! Yayy! I can’t wait to get it!

  • Hello!

I wanted to let anyone who was interested know that Hancock’s of Paducah has a nice selection of Liesl’s Woodland Clearing fabric on closeout for $4.99/yd! I just bought 24 yards to sew up some delicious goodies for dd14 and baby girl on the way!

In addition, if you sign up for their newsletter through Facebook, you will…[Read more]

  • I think Mama Knowles has it spot on. For a younger child, the shorter hemline is great. Beyond that, I have added length for tucking in…even if they chose not to tuck. A cropped shirt on an 8 or 12 year old just doesn’t pull off “cute” the same way it does for little ones. I don’t think the pattern necessarily needs revision, but perhaps just a…[Read more]

Last night I sewed up 3 pair of Sleepover bottoms with fleece. Kids were pleased. Also made a fleece Dallas Stars blanket for youngest boy and a Texas Rangers fleece pillowcase for older boy from jammie scraps. 😛

Today I am finishing the large Messenger Bag from LTTS for a friend after making a second trip to the store for proper hardware.…[Read more]

  • Yes, Melanie is clever and has such wonderful taste! The dress I’m making is a surprise, so I have to wait until the kids go to bed to cut it out tonight. I’m excited!

Your girls are right…empire waists are very nice and I know Ava will like it (she picked out the pattern!). I may have worried a little too much about the proportions, but I…[Read more]

  • Wonderful! Thanks so much for your input! I was making this more difficult than it should be by thinking I would add length to the back bodice. It makes much more sense to cut and spread the pattern below the arm hole.

Thanks, too, for the tip about topstitching. I wouldn’t have thought of that, but I have been a little stressed about those…[Read more]

  • So, my Ava is 12 (nearly 13, boo hoo!) and a bit tall for this pattern. Initially, I thought I would just lengthen the hemline about 3″, however, the more I looked at pictures and the drawings the more I think it might look a little out of proportion on her.

She is long and lean. She is so lean that it makes her look taller than she is. She is…[Read more]
