I’m so glad you’ve got this sorted @meleliza. I have to confess that whenever I see a thread about PDFs with your name on it, I have to look. Kind of like watching motor racing for the crashes.
(please don’t take that unkindly, I genuinely sympathise with your frustration too).
I wish it was so easy down under. Our largest standard paper size is…[Read more] -

WendyS, we would love to see it but…. I can’t see it here at least. Perhaps it was uploaded onto the flickr group page?
Just got back from the usual Saturday routine of swimming lessons. Having a little veg out time before going to do some much needed sewing.
I discovered a bishop style angel top this morning that has not yet been smocked so I…[Read more]

“I am the mother of the flower girl!” Hahaha, that is awesome, and should totally be a thing!
I confess, I would not feel comfortable with that level of matchy with my daughter, but to each their own! I am still scarred by my childhood in the 1980s. Nuff said.

I saw footage last night on the news. Having a huge dumping of snow would be like having floods here – complete disaster!
I pray for the families of those that have lost their lives. It would be very tragic to lose someone just because of a huge downfall of snow.
But it is wonderful to see such community spirit with the help each other is…[Read more]

Hilarious! Meleliza I don’t think it is too corny because you are using elements that are the same not dressing exactly alike, right?
I think it will be a very sweet tribute to the day and event.

It is indeed very cute Becky. I have made one in a knit and one in a woven and the knit is worn ten times more often. In fact I haven’t seen the woven one since I made it! I think I will dig it out of her wardrobe to recycle because the fabric is so nice.
I was pretty much knackered yesterday so did alot of sitting. During that time I actually…[Read more]

If it’s an issue with a place not being able to print just one page of a PDF, you can always split the file and send just the page(s) that are the large format sheets.
I do this with the full version of Adobe Acrobat. It has the option of deleting pages in a PDF. Save the file under a new name and delete all pages but the last.
I haven’t tried…[Read more]

Thanks Deb! You’re the best, and I’m impressed that you didn’t “work blue” with that one!

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Opening up the back of the mittens to get them on little hands in the forum oliver + s: little things to sew 11 years ago
Not a pattern as such, but you know it could be done with the LTTS mittens.
I’m imagining a glove a bit like a golf or cycling glove with the keyhole shaped cut out on the back of the hand.
Instead of doing an elastic casing as per the pattern you could make the wrist part of the mitten a bit shorter.
Then chop out a curve from the back of the…[Read more] -

I can tell you what I do, I am not sure if it is the proper way.
Lay your garment out and let it relax. Trace the pattern piece on to the garment, a sharpie is good.
Try snipping somewhere, not needed, on the garment and see how fast it unravels. If it is not too bad, cut and sew promptly. If it frays a lot, cut, zigzag edges first and then sew…[Read more] -

@mkhs – We discussed a similar option, but felt like the under shirt needed to be more fitted, plus that would involve 2 pieces { we are slow and somewhat lazy if there is a quicker way – ha! 🙂 } @Nicole you make it sound so simple! We plan to give it a try while crossing our fingers. . .and toes. . .and legs! THANK YOU both for your help!

The plan is to stick the feet up whenever possible. I just have to figure out how I can do that while I am sewing!
We are keeping the kids home today due to our very late night last night but it is not going to stop me from sewing. I want to keep going on the jacket and then get on with the cut out things sitting and waiting patiently.
