Oh Nicole! I hope you do contact them. Hopefully they can honor it since you placed such a large order!!
Just popped into my local shop yesterday afternoon for a little more City Weekend knit! Also ordered more Alexander Henry for matching skirts for the Niblet and me and picked up material for a couple more pairs of Sandbox pants! Loads of sewing planned!! (Must stop putting off project for Husband!! 🙂
14 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5I did send an email , and now wish I did not !
I am not usually a complainer.
To add to my distress , they now have the pink scallops in stock that I desperately wanted ! Do I place another order?
14 years ago LINKshasta @shastaNicole, don’t feel badly for sending that email! In the states, a “price adjustment” is actually pretty common. Not sure if they do that in Australia or not. A lot of stores (I’m thinking Gap, etc.) have specific policies about it (most common is that if it goes on sale within 14 days, they will honor the sale price). Some stores publish their policies on the receipt and other stores you just have to be in the “know” enough to ask for it. Pink Chalk Fabric has a sale price guarantee (good for 7 days). Anyway, my point is that you are completely within reason to ask for the sale price. Or at the very least, maybe they’ll send you some of the pink scallops! Good luck — keep us posted!
14 years ago LINKsayiamyou @marayaI don’t think you are a complainer at all! Shasta is right, loads of places will honor such things here in the States. Don’t feel bad, really! Tough call though on whether or not you should order more. I have the unfortunate habit of being able to talk myself into things like this so maybe I shouldn’t give advice…but it is a Christmas gift after all?! 🙂
14 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5Thanks Shasta and Mel , how wonderfully kind of you both to reassure me!
I think I will order the pink scallops and hopefully they will see this as a sign of good faith.
14 years ago LINKlittlebirdy @littlebirdyOooh oooh ooh! Just ordered some . . . . . . liberty tana lawn and kingly cord. Oooooooooooooh! I may never recover!
14 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5Hooray! Just received an email from http://www.quilthome.net with a credit for the full amount of the discount I would have saved ! I shall spend it all on City Weekend! I can get my pink scallops! Thankyou Claire , Shasta and every one else who supported me , I would have never thought to contact them! ( happy dance in process )
14 years ago LINKJustine J @justmejayOh Nicole – am so so so pleased they’ve given you the discount! I got that newsletter from them yesterday and it made me feel sick because I knew you had just ordered from them!
(btw – I ordered some too – who can resist 25% off??!)
14 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5Sorry Robyn , jumped all over your excitement! I love tana lawn , but what is kingly cord?
If you are not a newsletter receiver from quilthome , you should be fast! They have a 25% off City Weekend and I think O+S patterns for the next day or so! I can vouch for them being amazing to deal with.
I went back and ordered the pink scallops and the gold colour way prints from City Weekend, You are right Mel, It is a Christmas gift after all!
14 years ago LINKJustine J @justmejayAt last! The knit fabric I ordered to try before I cut my city weekend has arrived! It’s nowhere near as lovely as the C.W (but in fact nearly the same price!!) but far nicer than the stuff I found at the bottom of my stash box! Hopefully it will be better to sew than that!
Wow Robyn – real Liberty!!! Which pattern did you get??? What are you going to make??(I spent hours drooling on their website a few weeks ago!) Is the cord Liberty too?
14 years ago LINKsayiamyou @marayaHooray Nicole! Lucky girl! My new patterns (Sunday brunch and larger sandbox) and fabric should arrive tomorrow! Thinking I might have to get onto the brunch straightaway as there is some corduroy at my local shop that won’t stop calling my name!!
14 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5It sews up so nicely in cord, Mel. I hope you enjoy sewing this pattern as much as I did
14 years ago LINKshasta @shastaNicole, I’m so happy for you! Good customer service is a great thing, isn’t it? I’m sure many of us will shop there now because of the kindness (and fairness, if you ask me) that they extended to you. I just signed up for the newsletter — hopefully I’ll get the email with the code! I’m thinking about sewing something for myself in the O+S delicious knit! I saw a new Patty Young pattern for women — it’s a knit dress that I’m really tempted to buy. Why should the kids get all the great fabric? 🙂
14 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5I am so grateful for your support in this issue Shasta, and yes, they have gone far, far beyond what I hoped for, to the point I forgot to add the discount code to my order and the lovely Rosie emailed me to say that she had done it!
I would never had thought of approaching them , and far from making me feel guilty , they were so obliging !
Thanks girls!
14 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5My first parcel arrived from Quilthome tonight after only 9 days! I am so thrilled , City Weekend is everything it is cracked up to be!
Yes , Mel, the knit is beautiful , so soft and thick NOTHING LIKE the stuff I was using before. Woo hoo, off to pre-wash!
