Can’t wait to see it Nicole! Maybe in few years we’ll have another baby girl. Girls are just so much fun to sew for!
12 years ago LINKTamara @justsewitOh good to know that little C isn’t the last in line Sharon. Nicole, I was hoping to be sewing for my own wee one by now but … a bosses’ baby is just as good for the time being – and I have had the “deadline” extended as all plans for the project finishing have been turned on their head – and other plans fly out the window (but not this one). This also means I can do a bit of digging to find out preferences that she may have in terms of colours, styles etc. I am leaning towards doing a Teaparty playsuit as it is unisex and I’ll team it with a hat. That way it could be used boy or girl.
Today is the first “day off” I’ve had for quite a while, so after I try and make the house a teensy bit respectable, I am going check on my croup ridden boy and then go hide in the sewing room. There are quite a few outstanding projects to get done aswell as show stuff and if I am savvy enough I will need to accomplish the majority this weekend. That gives me today and tomorrow and part of Sunday (afternoon church service).
I also keep having visions of a project I am just dying to do but it will have to fester in the brain for a while longer. Got to get this lot out of the way first!

12 years ago LINKMama_Knowles @Mama_KnowlesI have not had any sewing time in a few days since the boys have went back to school but hope to get back to some tomorrow. I have a good size stack of pj’s waiting for me but a playdate dress calling my name. oh what to do?

12 years ago LINKwith love Heidi @with love HeidiHave just finished another of winged badminton skirt (finished at 11:30am for a 2pm party) and then made a MIP (make it perfect) Basic Tee (start 11:30 finish 1pm for same party). And my friend gave me 3 vintage floral sheets at the party (not even my birthday). Now what to do with them. . . Family Reunion maybe?
I have hopscotch traced in size 10 and MIP Basic Tee in 10. Then something else off my ‘sew it while it fits/Dead Horse’ challenge.
12 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5‘Dead Horse’ challenge,he he he
I finished a size 4 Liberty Capel Sketchbook shirt for a friends wee boy today,so cute SO CUTE!

12 years ago LINKwendy @wendylsI am absolutely swimming in doll clothes. I do piece work from home and I’ve been dying to finish up this batch so that I can take a whack at the horse. Tonight will be long a bleary but tomorrow I should be onto my Apple Picking dress. Finally! Then the School Photo dress, then some fall staples. Henna has grown out of her beloved music class blouses and Sunday Brunch jacket and I was really sad to pass then onto a friend the other day. I can’t believe she’s already into size 4. Size 3 didn’t last long enough!!
12 years ago LINKTamara @justsewitI have a half made baby outfit (non Oliver + S), a pleated part of what will be a smocked doll’s dress and still an unfinished trench coat sitting there. I think it is my turn for a dreaded lurgy as the tonsils feel a bit urgh! but it is a good thing that tomorrow I can stay home and try and catch up on somethings in the sewing room. Our local show is this Saturday and if these get finished they will be in it – if not well too bad! sometimes you just can’t do it all!

12 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5I am cutting out the size 12-18 months Badminton skorts for Tiny Tildy and The Dead Horse Challenge!
Navy drill for Kindy (sob)!

12 years ago LINKMama_Knowles @Mama_KnowlesI am working on two playdate dresses. The yoke on 6-12 months one is driving me nuts! It fits well around the dress except for a 1/2″. I am trying to be rework it again to see if I can’t get it right. gggrrr. The rest wil be a breeze.
What a tiny thing is Tildy! I sure the badminton shorts will look just cute on her.

12 years ago LINKwith love Heidi @with love HeidiI reaslised last night that the next thing I need to make is a grey size 12 Secret agent trench. This is very much a ‘sew it while it fits’ even though I have made it twice! I think this out dose all the other ‘I haven’t sewn these yet’ options purely in terms of getting as much (any!) wear as possible. And since I’m making one I might as well make 2 (both different shades of grey). And since this means the Overlocker thread will now be black, I might as well sew a size 10 MIP basic Tee (to go with the trench) and a pink/grey/black hopscotch. Off to hem the sleeves of yesterday’s hopscotch now I have the cotton.
If the badminton shorts are as good as the skirt they should come together easily Nicole.
12 years ago LINKTamara @justsewitI muffed the baby dress! The smocking was wonky after handsewing the mini piping three times! So it is show day and Tamara is not entering – and I am ok with that because I have other Oliver and s sewing to do.
Fancy an Apple picking dress (size 5) for no one in particular made in Scarecrow fabric?! Oh the Royal show this year has a “Year of the Farmer” section in every class of the Creative Crafts and they’re calling it “The scarecrow” section – have to tell hubby to make a scarecrow (THIS farm doesn’t have one!)
Next I am going to do some more pleating to smock something – and I really haven’t decided yet! I may have to do a bit of blending of patterns or something and do something that would probably represent something my nearly 10 year old would wear with pleasure?!
I have 17 days to get six things ready and haven’t finished even one! Lots to do!
12 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5Skorts cut out. I cut a size 12 for Elsa too.
I am sewing two wee Music Class blouses I found(blush) hopefully they will fit Tildy. Should do.
On the cutting board is a shirt variation on the SleepOver pj top,we shall see…..

12 years ago LINKTamara @justsewitAdd another pair of trousers to this ever growing list of mine – Noah came home from the show this afternoon with TORN PANTS!! Not happy to say the least but fortunate they weren’t his really good ones. I think we have one pair of sandbox pants that haven’t been torn apart from the jeans. And I am still finding it funny how he can successfully do it without incorporating a seam!
Ho hum! Back to stitching lace together…
