Just 5 or 10 mils will do me for now Heidi, just enough to cool the place down. Any more than that then we will have blokes running for tractors before they are ready!

I might just work on sticking my pdf’s together today and then decide what to do next. I also need to look at that Jalie jeans pattern and alter that – to accommodate my extremely long femurs.

And then I have to not be too selfish and sew something for the children.

I finished my second muslin for the wedding Cape. It still seams to have reasonable drape despite adding thin polar fleece as interlining, bride’s choice. I’m really looking forward to seeing it on and deciding if the rounded front corners are the way to go. I like them, especially from a sewing point of view, one less corner!

I’m now making a poufle/otterman to stuff with all my fabric scraps πŸ™‚

Yes! What a perfect idea. Is the wedding a winter one? Polar fleece would be nice and warm.

I just discovered something. Looking at the measurements for the new ladies t shirt pattern and I can actually fit into a size without doing an fba!(insert dancing emoti here) so exciting! Thanks so much Liesl!

Now to just wait for the hubby to get home so I can confuse him by measuring his chest!

Sewed up two circle skirts for the girls today. I used fold-over elastic for the waistbands. I had bought some awhile back thinking I’d use them to make diaper covers for the baby, but he no longer uses the type of diapers that require covers. I really should have waited until the girls got home to put the elastic on the skirts, though – although I know their waist measurements, the stretchiness of elastic varies and I usually have to fit it to them. I know they won’t be too small, though, so in the worst case the skirts can be worn next year (as the FOE will be a pain to unpick).

I still have two cut out Izzy Tops but I was sick and feeling queasy when I sewed the second one, so now looking at the two remaining ones actually makes me queasy. Does anyone else have weird nausea-associations? I get them all the time – what ever I am doing or watching or reading while nauseated, makes me nauseated in the future when I do it again.

lol, I can see that confusing my hubby too Tamara! He would think I have gone mad. ; )

I am still sewing a wee blazer days later. All I need to do is hand stitch the lining to jacket main part, it’s all hand stitching too so It’s going to take a while. The my favorite part, sewing button holes and adding the buttons!

I also have to finish sewing Jacob’s sketchbook Easter pants from last year today too. I really want to have a family photo taken of us this year and tomorrow it’s going to be nice and sunny after that lots of rain.

Finished the poufle and made a modified playtime dress. I turned the neckline into a tshirt neckline and used the existing hems for the sleeves and hem. I think it needs some embellishment but I’m not sure what. I’ll have to get a picture up for advice πŸ™‚

I have a houseful of teenage girls but I managed to sneak in a few hours on my Cappuccino tunic. Stunning sew.

Can wait to see the photos of everyone’s finished goodies! Sharon, you remind me that the last photo I have of our whole family was taken in a photobooth when my hair was above my ears, now it’s nearly to my shoulders. Need to rectify that!

I measured hubby. He was standing stupid and made his chest bigger by an inch! I wonder if I do the same tricks for enlarging the men’s t shirt pattern the same as we do the ladies, would he still stand stupid and still not let it fit? Oh well you win some and lose some. At least I know that I can have a t shirt pattern that fits me.

Going curtain shopping today and might stop off in the dressmaking doepartment for some more selfish fabric shopping. Its the only thing one can do whilst egging on winter to get here. The weather man has gone bonkers and is predicting temps of 37 degrees c for Easter Monday! It is totally inheard of. So I am going to be an ant and get ready for winter!

    37ΒΊC for a late Easter!?! That’s a bit ridiculous!

I know! That was the temperature today. But then in this part of the world you need heat to get moisture. We are over the heat now give us the moisture!! Not many cyclones reported either but I at least am trying not to worry. I wore my black and white traveller dress to Spotlight and I sweltered! It would be perfect for cooler weather though.

I went in looking for curtains and came out with fabric for a late lunch tunic – how does that work? Just couldn’t find anything in the way of curtains that I really liked (and it was pricey). I think I have to just tell my guests to dress in the dark and get up very early with the sun!

Anyway, i am still sticking patterns together. We had a very naughty dinner of chocolate hot cross buns – to celebrate the holidays and to do something different and totally abnormal. And now that there is no need to cook, I can go into the sewing room and continue sticking patterns together.

I’ve had a lovely couple of productive sewing days. Today I sewed up my first pair of playtime leggings. I love them and so fast! If I have the knit fabric I think all the girls outfits are going to have matching leggings πŸ™‚

I also made a pair of knit tea party bloomers using the serge and fold over and zigzag method of elastic application. I need to fine tune it a little but I think it will turn the bloomers into a much faster sew than with all the elastic casings!

    Sounds great.

I’ve slowed down a bit at the end of the week as I’m sewing the Apple Picking Dress for the first time. After all those buttonholes and attaching the neck ties I’ve called it quits for tonight. I’ll finish it off tomorrow night.

My final tally for the week will have been: 4 pairs Playtime leggings, 1 Flashback skinny T, 1 wool cardigan, 1 wool Japanese dress, 1 A-line Field Trip dress, 1 A line Sailboat dress, 1 Playtime dress and 1 Apple Picking Dress.

    Next week I rest!

Holy cow Lightning McStitch! I’m just joining this forum and read your rundown of your tally for the week! Awesome!! You rock.

πŸ™‚ thanks Lori! Don’t worry, this is not a normal week. This week is Kid’s Clothes Week and I stand accused of having gone a bit overboard!

I recall when I first started sewing I used to hand tie the threads at the end of every seam even if they then got sewn into another seam and trimmed off. Needless to say I’ve become a bit quicker!
