That would be wonderful Nicole. Yet I am still confused as I have been informed that jean thread and topstitching thread are the same – in the guterman range anyway.

Melanie, we need some sticking pdf fairies to come your way and get the job done for you – you know like the tooth fairy that came to our house last night.

Robin, I was working on the attache blouse before Christmas and had to put it aside for other things because the fitting was doing my head in! Hope you have better luck with the dress. I will try again soon. Nicole, I have to size up the larger pattern – only two inches away from being “normal”.

Mummy and me matching outfits featuring the everyday skirt sounds delightful Sharon.

Robin, I would love to see your finished shirt and some info on the fitting. I would love to make this dress but I am not confident in fitting the princess seams.

I’ve made myself another Lisette Diplomat dress. I’m still only getting to about 70% satisfaction but after three attempts I’ve kind of had enough now. Two are wearable at least and how many versions of the same dress can you have. Only I would notice the minor fit changes if I kept evolving the pattern…

However I’m at 100% satisfaction level tonight as I’m now sewing another Fairy Tale dress. I can’t help myself but to stop and admire it all the time and my daughter has been insisting on trying it on after every step that gets completed. After my Christmas tutu getting completely rejected I’m lapping up the praise. šŸ™‚

Your dress looks great! I looked very hard and I cannot see any fit issues. Very impressive šŸ™‚

Fitting @#$&! I don’t know if many of us are ever really all that happy with fit. The rest of the universe really doesn’t seem to notice the little details that drive us crazy. I’ve added ease back into the Attache dress and I don’t know. I feel like I’m all bust when I where it. The muslin fabric is certainly different from the wool crepe I used for the final garment. I’ll finish the dress and perhaps suck it in, and suck it up for a photo.

Robin it certainly is a tricky one for fitting. One muslin just might not be enough for this one I think.

I want to get stitching again on my food fight quilt (I renamed it) so that I can get on with school things. Quilting is really not the best thing to do in summer I find. I think I would happily piece and leave the quilting part for when we have cool weather again.

Meleliza, the Evryday Skirt is really pretty painless to put together, there are just not all that many pieces. There aren’t any where you’re trying to puzzle together a lot of sheets with small, odd shapes. Very straightforward. And because of the way the skirt is made you won’t need to make a ton of alterations. Try it!

FInally broke down and bought the Washi dress. Taking Liesl’s fitting class next week and super excited about it. 2014 reso. to sew for me underway!

Oh Sarvi, how fantastic! Enjoy every moment.

I did one muslin, altered it twice. I just think that the wool crepe behaves much differently than the cotton muslin. It’s not a bad fit, just not the same fit as the muslin.

So is the wool crepe the final go or a wearable muslin? I mean yes the two do act differently but we are so used to whipping out what we usually use. A wise birdy told me to do muslin in fabric of similar behaviour to the fabric I want to use. Its summer and I want to use voile yet the muslin is plain old calico.

Glad it fits better than the muslin does.

Have lots of fun in the class Sarvi – and tell us all about it after.

It’s like a make-up for bit of instruction I most wanted from the HR Sewing Weekend!

A fitting class with Liesl! How exciting! ! !

I am working on a whole lot of finishing things today, buttons and buttonholes for a tea party dress, sewing a ships wheel onto a tea party playsuit, evening out the hem of a LTTS tutu, sewing up the white courduroy diaper cover to finish off the white and lace set and sewing some more lines on my faux chinelle blanket. None of them are very time consuming but all need to be done so I have finished projects rather than a pile that needs finishing! šŸ™‚

I would sell one of my children to do a fitting class with Liesl. And the bigger ones do jobs!

I hope you get better weather Sarvi.

I glued together the Jebidiah shorts pattern PDF for Hugo. I need to measure him up before drafting a size.

I also drafted of the Chataigne shorts for Zara. They are Deer and Doe and super cute. (If unpronounceable to me)

OH all this talk of a fitting class with Liesl is just far too exciting. Is it really going to happen? I need times, dates so the crazy planner in me can make.it.happen. How cool would it be for us all to be there?
