Instruction 9 for sewing the welt pockets suggests to stitch in the ditch around the welt pocket and the diagram seems to show top stitching on all four sides of the welt. When I got to this step I only sewed the short sides and the top as I suspected that if I top stitched along the bottom of the welt that I would sew the pocket shut and that would be very frustrating. What have other people done at this point?

Do you fold the lining out of the way?

One way and then the other?

This is what I did: I folded the lining out of the way, then stitched in the ditch on 3 sides: the 2 short sides and the bottom.

Sometimes it can be helpful to look at the close up photos of the details here: http://oliverands.com/oliver-and-s-patterns/OLV-OS041AMD.html

Thanks for the responses, I will flip the lining out of the way next time.
