step 6 – Closing the casing

    Can anyone share any tips or tricks on how to finish edgestitching the casing’s open to close it? I have trouble not stitching the elastic into it and it bunches up.

    Hi, if you pull the casing taut as you slowly sew you should be okay, try rolling the waistband between your fingers to get the elastic out the way and then pin the casing before sewing so that you know you have not caught the elastic.

    Also, smooth the waist and elastic , stitch ,then redistribute the gathers evenly.
