Flutter sleeves on the Chai tee sound lovely. I would go the whole hog and make a flounce rather than a gathered sleeve (unless that is the look you want). I think a flounced sleeve hangs much nicer than a plain gathered sleeve. Although a gathered sleeves would be very on trend!
Look foward to seeing it 🙂 -

Hi all, Long time no chat.
Today I am making something for MEEEEEEE! All about meeee!
I am making the Chai Tee. So excited to have a D cup so the girls don’t bring the shirt up short!
Anyways, I would like to make the sleeves a bit more fluttery.
Do you think it would work if I just used the gathered sleeve method on page 55 of the BBB,…[Read more]

thanks Lightening McStitch!
I’ve got Little Things To Sew already and am working my way through it. The Red Riding Hood Cape is adorable however I really like the shape of the Forest Path and I think that it the slightly neater fit would work better for the almost 3yo (who isn’t particularly coordinated) it is intended for.
I’ve seen the little…[Read more]

You certainly can fit a hood into the Forest Path Cape. I’ve added a collar, and I know someone’s added a full hood to the Woodland Stroll Cape (the grown up version).
But….. What you really need is the Red Riding Hood Cape from the book Little Things to Sew. It has a hood, single front button closure, lovely little hand slits and really nice…[Read more] -

I’m wanting to make a ladybug cape for my almost 3yo and was wondering has anyone tried putting a hood on the forest path cape?
Or could I sub in a hood from a different O&S pattern, perhaps the duffle coat?
thanks guys!

Thank you! I contacted a repairman today and he had me send photos of the motor so will see what he suggests.
All the best 💗 -

Sounds like a job for your local service center! I know nothing about machines or sergers and can’t offer any help or suggestions, but I do know that it’s enormously beneficial to have someone knowledgeable who can service your machines. It’s a good idea to have them tuned up and serviced every year at the minimum and worth every penny in…[Read more]

I have a Husquvara Viking 905 serger. I had been sewing for a while when suddening the motor stopped. The light is on so power is going to the machine. There was no sudden sound. I can only assume it may have overheated and the motor seized. I have taken things apart, turned everything off then on again. Let it cool for hours and still nothing.

Yes, you are right! There is an error in the length measurement. We’re so sorry about that. We’ll issue an errata and update the pattern shortly. But in the meantime, the correct length measurements for the bodysuit should be:
- 0-3 M: 15.75″
- 3-6 M: 17.75″
- 6-12M: 18.75″
- 12-18M: 20″
- 18-24M: 21.5″

I’m just wrapping up my first bodysuit, and I chose the 0-3 month size based on the chart stating that the finished bodysuit length was 19″ – which seemed *very* long for a 0-3m bodysuit. However, now that I’m finishing it, my finished length is 14.75″ (from the neckline at the center to the end of the bodysuit). I double-checked the pattern…[Read more]

I would love to design a dress for teen sizes in the future and this book only goes to size 12. I think that there is such a shortage of good dress patterns for teens and would love a basic block pattern for bodice, skirt and sleeves, maybe as an add on to the book.

Rae Downing@ladyraestewart, I hope you see this post:
My old 14U Series Singer is doing kind of the same thing that you wrote about 2 years ago with the popping noise when sewing thicker fabrics and then the needle thread coming out of the needle. (that’s is pretty amazing to me that it unthreads itself right out of the eye of the needle!). I am…[Read more]
