Cooking and Baking 10 years agoJust had the most fantastic jacket potatoe dinner with friends 🙂 Jacket potatoes, tomato mince sauce (spag bol sauce), grated cheese, bacon, corn on the cob as well as tomatoes, carrot and cucumber sticks.
There were 9 of us, 4 adults, 2 6′ tall teenagers, and 3 kids. I cooked 14 large potatoes but next time I think I need 20 potatoes, I…[Read more] -

I have Simplicity 1506 and 2741 but haven’t tried them as yet. One of them is for blokes on the heftier side and it also has boys sizes.

I spent a couple of hours making a teeny tiny music class skirt in mulberry drill. The 6-12 month size looks huge against the 0-3 sized garments but its still jolly tiny.
I just need to add elastic and photograph.
But in the meantime, I am on to the next…..

I just bought some for full price but more locally. I figured it would save because of exchange rates but I wish I could have gone personally to get it and then would have saved the postage too.

@dubhels2003, do you have a link?
I wonder if it is the place mine comes from. I buy ‘seconds’ for the children’s sewing and the flaws are negligible.Thank you!

In the end, I rotated the top button hole by 90 degrees. My machine just couldn’t handle that spot between the seam at the yoke and the collar. But it has button holes now! They are resting with some glue.

Plush Addict, a UK based online fabric store is selling some tana lawns, which are Liberty Lawns but are not the ‘A’ grade rolls sold in store at £15 per metre-ish. A great deal if you are not put off by any slight flaws. With a busy pattern they probably wouldn’t be noticeable. It is all above board/legal and is not ‘knock off’ fabric (I have asked!).

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 10 years agoHey all, I just sewed my first entredeux and was SHOCKED at how easy it was! I’ll do a little tutorial for the Butterfly Dress sew-along. I was thinking I’d do a little pintucking tutorial, too, using a double needle and a pintucking foot. All these new (to me) techniques! Very fun, and so much simpler than I expected.
-
What? You are kidding right? They are so simple you are right but you know I thought the same when I first tried them. They are such pretty techniques. I am very glad there are tutorials coming about them all. But, I thought the butterfly was a top?
-
Ack, yes, the Butterfly Top! No idea why I said dress. In any case, I love these techniques.
