Sewing for Yourself 11 years agoI am still waiting for my mother to return from States to get hold of my Lisette patterns, so those would keep me busy for a while! However I would love to try the gallery top, it looks really comfortable. It’s my favorite from the new releases. I would love to try the skirt as well, I love the style. Maybe blue chambray.
I don’t get knits easily,…[Read more] -

Sewing for Yourself 11 years agoI absolutely love my gallery tunic, but I have the same reservations on the dress length. I love the tunic with skinny pants and shorts to balance out the loose ness. There are very good instructions on full bust adjustments.
The city stroll skirt is awesome. It’s fun to be a little short. Admittedly, I got to test it and wore it all winter long…[Read more]

I just had a quick look at the pattern and I don’t see why the pattern instructions wouldn’t be the best way. The hem is only a little curved. turn it half an inch, then another 1 1/2 and ease in the fullness where it curved. It will be just fine.

Sewing for Yourself 11 years agoI like all of the patterns. I’m not in a hurry to make any of them though. The maritime is a cute classic style, but I really like it in stripes, however I cannot wear stripes. They make me look wider. The skirt is very cute, but it looks too short for my lifestyle. I’m 5’7″ and I teach so I kind of need to move around a bit. Up and down off…[Read more]

Yes, same wedding. I don’t go to many! I will try to make something for myself, but it really is the busy time of year. I’m really tempted to re-do the floral dress above in the beige lace. I wouldn’t have to work too hard because I’ve already done the fitting.

That Ban Rol technique looks amazing. I will have to see if I can get some locally.
My sewing machine really does not like to do a basting stitch–the tension is never right on it. Very frustrating.

I am sorry Masha.
If it is any comfort, the moonboot offers a lot of support. Jed polished all our timber floors wearing one.All the best with the birth, I will be thinking of you.

Sewing for Yourself 11 years agoThe skirt is the pattern that I found most intriguing. I <3 skirts! I wear them almost exclusively in the summer. I like that it is a wrap skirt for ease, but the slit up the front concerns me. I, like a lot of women, am not comfortable with my thighs and fear this may show more than I am comfortable with. I know it can be lengthened, but at 5’4″…[Read more]

So this baby is due in a week and a half. My husband has been on crutches for the last week with a presumed sprain. Today’s X-ray confirmed my suspicion that it is not just a sprain. He will find out for sure on Thursday but the specialist suspects he will need surgery to fix a bone that regrew improperly after an undiagnosed fracture sustained…[Read more]

Made my son a pair of swim trunks using the Sunny Day shorts pattern yesterday. Tonight I will cut out another Cosi swimsuit for my oldest girl with plans to sew it up tomorrow.
