Sewing for Yourself 3 years agoI would recommend calling around to local shops I see what they charge for a servicing and what their turn around time is. I recently did this for my serger and one shop was $50 more than the other and the turnaround was twice as long! Sewing for Yourself 3 years agoMy wife’s sewing machine is giving her problems. When power is applied, the motor hums but nothing moves. Also, the hand wheel is difficult to turn – feels like it is binding. This was an inexpensive machine (Euro Shark Pro) that she bought several years ago. Hi Becca,
I remember that happening to a dress (or two) of mine. Perhaps it was the Croquet dress?…. And I recall a thread on this forum about how to prevent it.
I’ve since tended to use a little square of lightweight fusible interfacing on both the main fabric and the facing when I do one of those keyhole slit openings.

It is true that weat-infested polyester smell far worse than cotton. Here are some tips to get rid of the odor:
• Turn your clothes inside out before washing so the inside, sweaty part is more easily cleaned.
