Oliver + S

Site-Wide Activity

  • Hold this thought for the weekend @enbee we’ve got a blog post coming up with lots of inspiration for jeans from Oliver + S patterns!
My all time favourites were mashing the back half of the After School pattern with the front half of the Field Trip! But there are other great examples.

  • I was so excited to find the Diplomat dress pattern 1878 at my local Joann’s. Unfortunately when I was ready to start my project I discovered the instructions were missing and to make matters worse they had no more patterns in stock. (Argh!)

Any ideas on how I can get them.

Weinie dog top is shelved until I can make a button run. None of the buttons I have match. And the ones I thought looked pretty great actually kind of clashed badly in natural light. Of course.

Nightgown is complete and on a sleeping girl. I also whipped out the barely started Seashore dress I was going to work on in January before life…[Read more]

Has anyone made the Small Fry jeans Lightning mentioned upthread? I’m looking for a pattern for my little guy, and I like everything about that one EXCEPT that for every pair I’ve seen sewn, the back yoke looks too tall, making the pockets ride really low. My guy has short legs and a big toddler potbelly, so pants already tend to ride low on him…[Read more]

I just finished my second playdate dress for the week! I will finish the last two on the weekend after I have returned from a long distance school run.

The croquet dress is still in bits btw.

The weekend has a stint of tracing and cutting patterns included in the schedule, hopefully involving my teenage daughter (seeing as the patterns are for…[Read more]

Finished up my green vintage patterned blouse, the wienie dogs are down to a fit and mark where the button holes and buttons go. I added some hidden boning to the green blouse, along with a covered eyehook, wax thread loop, clever tacks, and an invisible hem. Oh! and I covered the buttons, and I’m so so so glad I went that route- the blouse looks…[Read more]

Yes I admit I like the vogue one best also.
Hope it helps. It can’t be easy knowing there is major surgery coming up. i hope everything goes very well and that your friend makes a full recovery.

    Thanks so much Tamara!

I like that the McCall’s pattern is printable, but the fit looks really baggy. I like the looks of the Vogue one better. Which is ridiculous, because it’s pajamas.

Heidi isn’t it crazy how it “thinks” it knows better?!

I am just finishing off the hems of the three playdate dresses this morning. I had hoped to finish them yesterday but we had a storm that took our power so that put paid to that!

I am hoping to get started on a croquet dress I’ve had sitting there for a while. I lost the ribbon I bought for…[Read more]

  • These are A.MAZING Tamara! Thank you for sharing them.

  • Hello Lizabeth
I would love to see how you use these cards. I pulled them this week and have been updating with additional pattern views. Here’s the new version. I used them with the Lisette swatch cards that Liesl provided here: http://www.sewlisette.com/blog/2011/12/fabric-swatch-card-set-our-holiday-gift-for-you/
Then played a matching game…[Read more]
