    Maybe a little overstated, but . . .

A good friend is facing very serious surgery, and he wants button front pajamas (the button-front will be needed for medical reasons). I’m looking for pattern recommendations.

Also, he has a print he likes from Spoonflower. I don’t have any experience with their substrates. I’d love advice on what would be best for men’s summer pajamas. The lawn?

Take a look at these… All are button up and the McCalls one is printable
    Vogue 8964
    Butterick 6837
    Maccalls 4244

Choosing something like lawn would be perfect as you want something that is a natural fibre so it won’t irritate the skin around where they operate. Hospitals tend to be warm year round also – I was told they keep a temp of around 25 degrees c so a lightweight fabric will help in that sense too.

    Hope this helps! Good luck!

    Thanks so much Tamara!

I like that the McCall’s pattern is printable, but the fit looks really baggy. I like the looks of the Vogue one better. Which is ridiculous, because it’s pajamas.

Yes I admit I like the vogue one best also.
Hope it helps. It can’t be easy knowing there is major surgery coming up. i hope everything goes very well and that your friend makes a full recovery.

He is expected to! But it’s open heart surgery, so he’s reeling.

The least I can do is make him some fabulous Jim-jams to reel in.
